I just happened to be in the control tower at the base on which I was stationed when the Thunderbirds arrive. When they do, the put on a show.
At one point, the controller grabbed the mike (didn’t press the button) and inquired, “Aircraft inverted on final approach, state your intentions.” I was never issued such instructions while I was flying.
