I’m in Europe right now since Aug 5. My husband has an EU passport so as spouse, i used the loophole. Our daughter was getting married and we feel lucky we could attend. But I have been the only American in hotels in Germany, Austria and Switzerland. Today I’ll be in Liechtenstein….I’m guessing it will be the same. Everyone wears masks indoors but not outside. Hygiene and protocol for safety has been handled well.. and when we first arrived from the USA (in Frankfurt), we took a quick Covid test right in the airport to avoid having to quarantine. So far, everything has gone smoothly. And it’s nice when no place is crowded. Still, hope things will go back to some form of normal soon. I can fly to Europe, but flying to NY to see my grandkids is a bigger problem!

Maybe rat could make money as someone they test vaccines on.

I so would like to go on a foreign excursion once this pandemic is o’er with. Maybe not to Europe, but maybe somewhere in the Pacific beyond Hawaii (like — oh, I don’t know — American Samoa).

My wife and her sisters booked trip to Poland in November. I think with the three of them they’ll be able to wish it into happening.

I’ve willed each of my children a million dollars I don’t have. I’ve got the will, they’ve got the paper. They also owe the lawyer for the paper.

My brother, who takes 3 or so international trips a year for fun, says he’s not making any reservations until 2022, depending how things look by then. Sounds like a better plan than rat’s.

Rat has an abundance of confidence. In fact, I think he’s used up all mine. I don’t expect an effective vaccine anytime in the near future, and I’m not planning any vacations….

If Dr. Fauci is optimistic we can have effective vaccines and/or treatments available by the end of this year (or early 2021), then so am I. I had made plans to take a little mini-trip to Portland, ME in the second week of November. But am considering moving that to November 2021 instead. But if we have vaccines widely available (and if I have to get a yearly vaccine for COVID, like I normally get for the flu, so be it), by the Spring of 2021 I would like to take another mini-trip then. But right now, I am staying close to home and hoping that we are getting closer and closer to an end to this.

It’ll be gone right after the election, guaranteed.

If that doesn’t work, there’s always wishful thinking. But so far even that approach has failed miserably.

Not to worry.

Before the election, there will definitely be AN ANNOUNCEMENT that a vaccine is very close to being totally ready.

The ANNOUNCEMENT will contain information about how the vaccine is nearly totally effective and will be available on a mass basis early next year.

There will be just ‘a few’ more trials to complete and be reviewed. Also, a few more billions will be provided to certain specific drug companies as a reward for being able to make THE ANNOUNCEMENT. Also, reports of those companies ties to the administration and the RNC are totally false.

Ya’ll, don’t worry. It will be amazing how COVID will become just another running nose ailment once November 4th rolls around

Why not? The führer is once again pushing yet another miracle “cure” (cough, cough) which pays big bucks to one of his major donors but that has the potential to kill people with heart problems, especially arrhythmia, or those taking certain meds. (Echos of another of his snake oil obsessions on those counts…)

Hey, we are moving right into the 5th century (at least the European version of the 5th century).

So, if we have miracle “cures” why not just will a vaccine into existence? Putin is pushing testing one that has not passed all stages of testing on non-volunteer teachers and medical personnel, and the Chinese are doing so with another vaccine on military volunteers.

The Democrats seem to think they can do it.
