Tuna is gross. And just this morning on the news the famous Subway eateries got accused of not putting any type of tuna ingredient in their tuna flavored sandwiches
I can sympathize with Liz and Garfield – my to-be mother-in-law (before my wife and I were married) used to make tuna with gravy and peas on toast. Think of chipped beef on toast (or SOS if you know it by that name), with tuna substituted for the beef. Yuck! I think she was trying to chase me off – but it didn’t work. Wife and I just had our 48th anniversary! ;-)
I’m dropping into this classic cat jointe to avoid replying to ‘Old Man River’ at ‘Yaffle’ …. didn’t evn read his comment toward me. Might have been good and positive, but guess it was not. Now where’s the venison helper? TUNA #10 @ Jersey Mike’s is the BEST in my opinion, with Cousins subs and Subway not even close to Jimmy John’s roast beef yet.
Here’s some Lecretia Garfield trivia: there is an Arbuckle’s restaurant in Stevens Point, WI that SPASH panthers like to dine in because of their PIZZA, but Sam’s Pizza in Schofield offers a tuna pizza that is unique.

As for me, I actually used to like tuna a lot, especially in barbecue sauce. However, I haven’t eaten it in recent years, because of all of the talk of how much Mercury it contains. And also, as for pizza, the only pizza places that I actually like are Pizza Hut, Domino’s Pizza, and Abby’s Pizza, while the only frozen pizza brand I will eat is Tony’s Pizza.

The pizza not Jon’s casserole.

Sorry Jon, I’d rather trust a delivered pizza, than a home-made disaster meal, made by you.

I prefer a good pizza and ham with buffalo mozzarella, or with four cheeses with the addition of ham. They sound better …

Maybe you should leave the cooking to Liz, Jon. Just saying.

Or you could order from Subway. I just read that their “tuna” isn’t tuna. In fact, it isn’t even fish!

I have never had tuna casserole. Don’t plan on that changing.

An occasional tuna casserole helps you appreciate pizza when you do get it. And it isn’t necessarily that bad in itself.
BigDaveGlass over 3 years ago
Well Jon does faint at tomato sauce, I don’t know if any is in a tuna casserole, and I’m not going to find out…

Read where Subway was using some concoction of stuff and calling it tuna in their subs.

Back in the days of no meat on Friday’s, tuna casserole was on my mom’s weekly rotation, versus fish sticks or shrimp if we were lucky. I miss it!

“Famous”? More like “infamous”, knowing Jon’s cooking. After all, as Garfield once said in the ’80s, this is a guy who could ruin cereal.

If it were Grandma Arbuckle’s famous tuna casserole instead of Jon’s, then they would raise their hands.
