It is true that a huge jackass was using Twitter for a very long time. But they have now gotten rid of him. Varvel would probably object to that right though, because apparently he endorses armed insurrection against the USA and murder.
Trump is a vile human being who lit the match of insurrection. He meant for Pence and Pelosi, especially, to be killed by the terrorists. He “was delighted” and “excited” watching the catastrophe he ignited. – The HillHe enjoyed when his “people” went after journalists, those in the crowd who were not his sycophants, thinking about shooting someone on 5th Ave. He’s a malignant, narcissistic psychopath.
Trump encouraged the terrorists to go to the Capitol. Lied to them by saying “I will be right there with you”. Then in the midst of the terrorist attack, tweeted “We love you. You’re very special”. But Twitter saying enough is enough is a problem for Varvel? LOL
I wonder just how long this comment would survive were I to say in blunt terms, bolstered by my Army ‘special language training’, just what I think of your values as an American.
The First Amendment to the United States Constitution prevents the government from making laws which regulate an establishment of religion, or that would prohibit the free exercise of religion, or abridge the freedom of speech, the freedom of the press, the freedom of assembly, or the right to petition the government for redress of grievances.
So, Varvel, since when is Twitter a branch of government?
Gary- are you saying you accept evolution is a real thing? I thought your religion of “Jesus does what I tell him to” didn’t allow for evolution to be real.
Holy cr*p Varvel. Almost every other right wing cartoonist on GoComics is showing that Trump has destroyed his legacy, and is a sore loser… yet you still paint people who are trying to stop him as being the bad guys?? Is this really the legacy that you want for yourself?
So Varvel supports Seditious posts fomenting insurrection in violation of Twitter’s TOS, eh? Good to know. (I knew that already, but having confirmation is a must).
getting a little tired of the “twitter is a private corporation” argument.. ..twitter has become . . .ubiquitous. . . it has become a kind of public utility for political speech
I have little sympathy for Trump, having myself been booted off of twitter numerous times, but a lifetime ban is probably over-the-top
1) Twitter has and always has had terms of service regulating what can and cannot be posted;
2) Trump has famously violated those terms of service for years, with Twitter saying that overriding public interest prevented them from suspending his account;
3) Trump’s recent postings crossed the line between “public interest” and “public threat;”
4) Twitter suspends his account.
The ban isn’t about party or ideology, it’s about Trump, and Trump has only himself to blame.
Private company, Gary. Private rules. He agreed to the terms and conditions, he broke the terms and conditions (repeatedly), he has been tossed out for not abiding by the terms and conditions he agreed to. Bugger all to do with Democrats taking over. More like businesses (mostly Republican supporters), being businesses. Making commercial decisions.
manure bill is with us again…making as much or little sense as usual. Gotta give the guy credit, he keeps shoveling, hoping some one will swallow his silliness. Sad.
Montana Senator attacks colleagues as ‘gutter alcoholics’ for perpetuating Trump’s lies
Montana Sen. Jon Tester (D-MT) schooled his fellow Montana officials on Monday as Republicans are slowly learning that being aligned with white supremacists and insurrectionists is a security problem, the Montana Free Press reported.

Why do Republicans/conservatives/trumpcultists have no idea what the 1st amendment actually says.
