Repost for those who missed yesterday’s late-breaking news:
Good thoughts please for our one and only Georgia, everyone! She had a scare but is doing better now (Elvis and Lupin are helping). Full story here: https://twitter.com/GeorgiaDunnBCN/status/1353852780046258177
Elvis looks dazed and confused…. Could he have been sleep walking when he passed the frosting? High praise from Puck and Lupin, what will power hero Elvis has!
Gloria, I hope you are feeling better. I am glad you have your brave cats to protect you. I had some pretty bad nighttime coughing and my doc suspected acid reflux. He had me raise the head of my bed. Worked like a charm!
O.T. Well, I have an appointment to get my first Covid vaccination Thursday morning. I don’t know whether to be glad they scheduled me so soon after I signed up, or frightened that I have enough risk factors to make the provider consider me
As usual, the MSM like BCN are just peddling the party line. We need the alternative media, like BeatrixNews, to know what is really happening. They are usually run by people who are too loony to be bribed or threatened into the usual cover-ups.
O.T. Regarding acid reflux. A few years ago, I started to have it bad but luckily not in my sleep. That sounds so horrible. For me, I looked up causes and changed my eating habits. No eating big meals right before bedtime. That’s the big one. Next, for me, a specific food was tomatoes. I love tomatoes but they don’t love me except in very small quantities. I rarely get those attacks anymore. Also, if I have a touch of reflux, a teaspoon of baking soda mixed with water helps. Tastes terrible but it neutralizes some of the acid in your throat.
I don’t Tweet otherwise I would have joined those who wished you well.
What a scary experience for all – you and the rest of the two, three, and four legged family members. I am so glad that you are improving and had the good sense to immediately eek emedical help rather than like so many people who just ‘tough it out’.
Thank you for sharing your experience. I have never heard of such a thing and would not have known what to do. Your adventure may save others in the future.
I pray that you are feeling better and that this will be the only episode that you will ever have.
Hey I saw Lupin Toe Beans this morning and then before I could comment I got distracted by the artist’s health concern. So I’ll say it now even through surely cat1963 has already done so: Tooooeeee Beeeeaaaannnssss!!!!!!
This has quickly become my very favourite BCN strip—right up there with “Today’s been Cancelled Due to Rain” and “The Woman is reporting in the nursery.” ❤ Elvis’ confusion and disappointment over not taking advantage of an unguarded full tub of frosting is both heart-stoppingly adorable and gave me the giggles (which I badly needed!) Thank you Georgia for making the best comic in the world despite not feeling well lately—I don’t know how I would cope if you were not in this world to fill our lives with joy. I’m definitely not alone in that. ✿♥‿♥✿

I wonder at the depths of Elvis’ contemplation. What was he thinking of?

Ignorance of the presence of a treat is the best way to avoid eating it.

If it had been buttercream frosting, he wouldn’t make that mistake. Real butter!

By the way, today is our Republic Day. The day the constitution of India came into effect, back in 1950.

I thought cats lacked sugar receptors or whatever they’re called thus not being attracted to sweets?
