Adam, the worst that could happen is trapping all of humanity in a computer simulation. And nobody knows it. Trust me you don’t want to know what happens when the safety measures don’t work…

I experienced three iterations of upgrade, failure, and rollback just this past weekend. Windows doesn’t like my software defined radios.

OK, I give up. Is Eve wearing a leaf, a boa, or a reptile? Or is she just very strangely constructed? :)

Like the Bible, nobody really reads the terms, they just scroll to the bottom and click “I agree”.

    Q. What’s the worst that could happen?

    A. Math, science, history, unraveling the mysteries. . . .

(With apologies and thanks to Ed Robertson and the Barenked Ladies for the theme song of The Big Bang Theory.)

The Devil is, literally, in the details. That is exactly why they make the licensing agreement a mandatory thing for software. A simple “Use at your own risk.” is not exactly, precisely, perfectly vague enough.

Ah, the modern version — no direct warning not to eat the apple, He just put it in the fine print where they wouldn’t see it. Either way, the story portrays Him as a con artist who sets them up to fail, and His behavior as underhanded. Never thought it was a very flattering portrait of God.

It may be true that we are all descended from Africa but to say that the original ancestors were black is an assumption. That long ago we really do not know what color they were. We only make educated guesses from studies at what the climate and all other variables were 10, 20 or 30 thousand or million years ago. A lot has changed since then.

I feel like this with my phone, they do not tell you it’s an actual android update until you open it, by then it could have been malware.
