I’ve always thought it rather rude to trying talking to someone while they are reading the paper. Of course, she gets the same response out of Earl even when he is not reading.
With people who like to talk and talk I don’t think it matters if you listen or not. It’s not like you’re having a conversation. He’s just enjoying his own voice.

If you paint a face on the back of his head, you can talk to him while he reads the newspaper.

Instead of Wilson, Earl is more of a Brunswick or Ebonite.

Love that movie for many reasons, but as a figure skater, I get a kick out of the Riedell figure skates that wash up on the beach.

In the sense that you’re insane and imagining he’s a person? Could be.

Dogs make an excellent audience. When you want a response, pull out a biscuit.

It’s wise to remain somewhat inconspicuous as you never can tell when a honey do list comes out off her mouth

Such a sad Opal…so lonely! :-(
They were so much friendlier and happier in 2002 on their cruise.
Time for another cruise!

Sometimes I listen better than a volleyball. Sometime the ball hears better than I do.
