It is simply about generating outrage and hate. Stir enough people up to overwhelm any system put in place to limit the influence of extremists. This has been a long term strategy on the part of the Right to take absolute power over all branches of government and maintain that power for as long as possible. (Note to those just described: I don’t mean to sell you short. Of course I know you are firmly convinced it will be permanent. This time.) Demonize anyone who opposes you, using terminology and catch phrases that will cue your audience to respond. Today those dog whistle words are “liberal”, “socialism”, and, if the Right is to fully succeed, “Democrat.” It requires a steady supply of new boogeymen to destroy, whether real or imaginary. Keep “your” people in a state of constant indignation. It is what the Nazis and Fascists did. It is undoubtedly what many empires and would-be empires have tried to do for eons. "Your (our) problems are not your fault. They are the fault of those other people, those {insert catch phrase here}.

So KE throws out a new chew toy labelled “marxism” and you respond. Why? Is he going to be persuaded by your rational argument? Is it going to help someone else understand? No. It’s just driving the post to the first comment that everyone sees, giving it undeserved prominence and letting MAGAts feel like they “owned the libs” by getting under your skin. That post was such an obvious attempt at irritating a response and yet you still fell into the trap. Be better and don’t reply. If you feel the need, start a new comment and respond that way. Quit feeding the needy ego seeking validation by replying.

@Kyrie Eleison: I see you have neither read Marx nor understand him, if you identify being “woke” or Critical Race Theory or even the Green New Deal being in ANY WAY “Marxist” as you clearly intend it, which is to say “bad.” Even conservative economists will tell you that Marx was an excellent economic historian (indeed, that’s what I was taught by a conservative economist at Harvard). Marx was crap at understanding how people actually worked, and worse at predicting the future, but he identified some important points of stress in society with his class-based analysis.

And so-called “Cancel Culture” is best represented by the RIGHT wing these days, which does its best to eliminate anyone who disagrees with them.

Truth is, while Marx provides some interesting ways to examine societal issues, there has never been a Marxist political state in the history of the world, despite the claims of the USSR and China.

New reports reveal a much larger plot and conspiracy by Trump before the Jan. 6 coup attempt

The flood of “revelations” about the Trump regime’s attempts to overthrow American democracy continue.

Contrary to what the professional smart people with their “view from nowhere” and too many other members of the chattering classes have claimed, the dangers of a coup perpetrated by the Trump regime were not exaggerated or hysterical, and most certainly were not symptoms of “Trump derangement syndrome.” The danger was clear and obvious for those who were paying attention to reality as it is, and not as others wished it to be.

As reported by CNN, Trump longed for the U.S. military to “crack skulls” and “handle” the protesters with great force. He reportedly wanted the United States military to “beat the xxxx out” of the protesters and even “shoot them.” When told that such violence was illegal and inappropriate, Trump then suggested that the military could shoot protesters in the legs instead.

It appears that Gen. Mark Milley, chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, and then-Defense Secretary Mark Esper were able to stop Trump from ordering U.S. troops to act out his violent, psychopathic fantasies.

ProPublica recently obtained emails revealing that the violence by Trump’s followers on Jan. 6 was predictable and in no sense unexpected. In their new reporting, Joshua Kaplan and Joaquin Sapien explain that they interviewed "more than 50 people involved in the events of Jan. 6th

Taken together, these accounts suggest that senior Trump aides had been warned the Jan. 6 events could turn chaotic, with tens of thousands of people potentially overwhelming ill-prepared law enforcement officials.Rather than trying to halt the march, Trump and his allies accommodated its leaders, according to text messages and interviews with Republican operatives and officials.

In other words, nothing about the coup attempt was spontaneous or random.

FOX News is the MOST DISTRUSTED News Network in America, Which is DEAD LAST Internationally

The state of the media suffered “bigly” during the years that Donald Trump occupied the White House. He hated the concept of free press, repeatedly calling it “the enemy of the people,” and berating and insulting reporters. It was his mission to sow discord. And it was one of the few things that he was good at. At least with regard to his worshipful cult followers.

Trump actually admitted to Leslie Stahl that he purposefully foments distrust of the media. She asked him why he attacks the press. “You know why I do it?” he replied. “I do it to discredit you all, and demean you all, so when you write negative stories about me no one will believe you.”

Mission accomplished! A new report by the Reuters Institute ranked media trust among 46 countries. The United States came in dead last:

“The United States ranks last in media trust — at 29% — among 92,000 news consumers surveyed in 46 countries. One explanation, though not necessarily the only one, is the extreme political polarization in the U.S. This study, like many others, found extremely high levels of distrust — 75% of those who identify as being on the right thought coverage of their views is unfair.”

“The U.S. media is the least trustworthy in the world, according to a comprehensive new Reuters Institute survey encompassing 46 countries. Yes, you read that right. The country with among the most resources in this arena – human, technical and otherwise – finished dead last. Finland ranked the highest, with a 65 percent trust rating.

When the survey results were broken down by media brand, Fox News had the distinction of being the most distrusted at 46% and only 35% trusted. That coincides with Trump’s most zealous base of support.
