In Tracyverse the presence of Internet and smartphones is very inconsistent. Don’t Vera and Mysta have smartphones? Even if Mr Cravkpot Archival has sequestered them maybe they can be traced

Yes, Peanutbutter was a bit of a sleuth back in the day when he developed his Bugs and Worms strip that eventually got published. His username bugman051872 refers to the day when we first met him in the strip, May 18, 1972:

He later came to hanging out at Dick Tracy’s office flirting with Moon Maid, much to Junior’s annoyance.

That guy in P. 3 has stood all he can stands and can’t stands no more. Can he break into Vera’s office files and deduce where he is from that ?  However he finds the ’toonist and Mars lady it will be interesting to see what he does with the intel.

Man, it’s like we’re guest stars! I think this is the first time we commenters were acknowledged in the strip.

I was expecting to see Diet Smith’s reaction to Vera and Mysta’s “elopement and wedding”…

It will be interesting if the “comics nerds” can crack the case and share their suspicions with the MCU…

Any chance Archival has some swift acting disease and knows he only has 127 hours left to live? If he thinks he can keep them hidden for years he’s insane… Actually, even if he only has 127 hours left to live (126.8 by the time I’m done typing) that could translate to three months of Tracy time – but he’d still be insane for kidnapping them in the first place.

Bugman. With super powers known only to him, fights for truth, liberty but mostly NO RERUNS.

Now I want to investigate why Sarah Anderson hasn’t posted a new comic in a while.

3-ANOTHER TAKE: Hi guys! I just flew back from Florida and boy are my arms tired! HA! In the island death trap story that Peqoud alluded to yesterday, it was HAM Radio operating kids about Junior’s age that helped HQ find the missing police officers. This could be sort of an equivalent thing in today’s world.

This is unexpected — and potentially a delightful plot twist. It’s high time for Tracy to team with strip fans to break this case!

Bugman is going to get the ball rolling on this storyline. Hooray! As someone said a while it was starting to resemble a soap opera.

Might behoove MCU to employ social media specialists. The future has arrived.

Until there is a from the neck up depiction, I am not going to believe this is PB in today’s last panel.

Vera might not realize it but the strip will be missed long before him.

Several months ago, here on GC the Tarzan strip went into reruns in the middle of an arc. Commenters only complained for about a week.

Boy Ivan B sure likes to see his name. Now Peanutbutter??? OMG, along with Alldid the most annoying character in the Gould Universe. Just what this pseudo War and Peace length arc needs.

Where’s Dick Tracy while all this is going on? He & the rest of the MCU are doing paperwork, & do you REALLY want to watch 2 weeks of THAT?

Cut to a huge media convention. Everyone in the world is there. Down near the bottom corner of the drawing, a brief convo: “I wonder where Vera Alldid is.” “Eh.”

The Daily Daily in Tracy’s town appears to still be running full size comic strips, if that paper by “Bugman’s” elbow is any indication.

A resurrected character of dubious stature among fans, Peanutbutter? —I’m afraid he’s from an era when I read the strip only sporadically, having just begun work in Ohio, and, for better or for worse, I do not recall him at all.

But if he can work a little computer magic and come up with a useful clue, I would not mind that at all.

Any which way, it’s nice (I think) to see comics commenters worked into the plot along with all the many other diversionary sub-plots that serve to fill out the main theme of crazy Brock Archival kidnapping Mysta Chimera and Vera Alldid (“Vile Alldone”). We resolutely await resolution….

So, now we know how Joe & Mike see us Tracy fans.
