That is an EXCELLENT reason to keep it! Alas, my reason for upgrading my shirts is the same… but in the opposite direction. :(

For some old clothes are good reminders, for other bad.

For some they provide incentive, for others discouragement.

I don’t know about today but back in the day those shirts were made of cotton or cotton blend. I would never run in them. They tended to pile up. In the end they usually would become rags—and not very good ones with all the sponsors logos on them.

Old favorite shirts are like old favorite memories: they’re easy to slip into and comforting to keep around.

Lately I only give up slacks or shorts when they fall off of me. Shirts I don’t mind so much if they are too big. I gained a bit when covid first hit, I haven’t had it, got vaccinated early, but still, it has been stressful trying to navigate safely in public, which I avoid as much as possible. Then I decided I would be safer if I did catch it if I were on the slimmer side. So, I am, and still losing, and in a healthy way. Also have continued long morning walks. I have t-shirts from 1990, all sizes, and I love the old soft ones. Pure cotton are the best! They just get silkier.

My next 5k will be my first 5k… and at my age, likely my last.

I just got my BMI readings back and discovered I’m 8 inches undertall.

Wish I’d kept all my large t-shirts – when I lost weight and got down to a small/medium, I donated every last one of them swearing that I’d never need a large ever again. Then I tore my hip flexor and rotator cuff within a month of each other, Covid came along, and here I am buying large t-shirts again…
