Well, if she thought the bullwhip was just for decoration, Doubleup has now made sure she knows it’s potent weapon. She looks rather taken aback by the demo.
Bullwhips are fine in close quarters, but he can’t take out anyone 50 or more feet away. Even Indiana Jones used a handgun when the situation called for it, like when the other guy had a sword.
Normally I’d point out that the lamp isn’t exactly the same dimensions as yesterday but I won’t to avoid reading all the accusations of me being a nitpicker. Hope you’re all satisfied! ¯\(ツ)/¯
Sunday a cigar smoker wanted to see the Ace. Was he important or our introduction to the secretary and fact Doubleup is the bodyguard? And, one presumes, neither secretary nor Doubleup just started the job. Yet this conversation seems very… Oh, wait, this hasn’t been done for the characters – it has been the reader’s reminder of who Doubleup is.
1-RED: You’re kind of short for a body guard. And your feet are tiny. Is that why you carry that long whip everywhere?
2-WHIPPY: No, it’s because…wait a second…is that comment directed at my Little Whippy? THIS IS WHAT I DID TO THE LAST WOMAN WHO MADE FUN OF LITTLE WHIPPY…
The last receptionist who cozied up to the bad guys was Miss Deal, who ended up with aknife at her throat.
About Mr.Bribery’s old’"Girl Friday"——-at the beginning of Max Collins’ “COMPUTER KILLER”story, there was a receptionist who was a dead ringer for her.But she was never identified as Miss Deal. She was called “Sharon”,
This would make her not only “Misdeal”,but “Share In Deal”.I say it should officially be made her.
I’m starting to wonder if the receptionist is Sprocket Nitrate (a.k.a. “Susan”) in disguise. Replace the “shades” with prescription eyeglasses and tuck the hair up under a blonde wig:

It would explain what happened after she headed to the West Coast.
With all these narrative detours at this point I’m beginning to think I’m gonna need Diet Smith’s time drone to go way back in time to when this story originally started…

Is that a rose bush? Or does the MC just like red? If they are red roses, could there be bribery in the future…?

The last time Double Up was in a story line, he stated that he didn’t carry a gun to avoid a felony charge.

Are Stanton and Curtis fans of Neil Young? “The rose clipped by the bullwhip” is a line in the song “Thrasher.”

Is there no case for a bullwhip? Doubleup cannot be comfortable with it clutched under his arm all day.
IvanB.Cohen about 3 years ago
My word! What kind of gun does he carry? A .44 or .357 Magnum? He finds it too clumsy. Probably jerking the trigger when he shoots.

What is the Ace of Spades and his visitor talking about behind closed doors? Maybe it will be made known by Friday.

Office romance brewing here, or is Doubleup untouchable (and not in the sense of the TV version of Eliot Ness)?
