Some mandates make no sense, others do. A clean room is mandate is healthy, wearing a mask in a cubicle, not facing anyone while on the phone is ridiculous
When my teenage daughter was still at home, we also had the ‘Clean Your Room’ argument. Finally I said, “Clean your room or I’m thrown out everything that is not put away.” I only had to do it once.
Love this whole sequence. What I don’t love is that is satirizes an ugly reality: somewhere between 25-30% of our fellow citizens have confused arrested emotional development with freedom. Which someone will likely demonstrate in a reply to this comment.

All hail the diplomats!

They say possession is nine-tenths of the law. Dad has possession of ten-tenths of Danae’s phone. Advantage Dad.

I shudder at the thought of Kate as an adult! Danae can be stymied – not Kate!!
Wilde Bill about 3 years ago
Kate is the one to watch, but Danae is much more fun.

I’m still on a flip phone. Took me a while to realize that “conversation” is screen shots

When I was growing up, I didn’t get mandates; I got spankings for failures to comply.

The future belongs not to the diplomats but to the facilitative mediators.

Diplomatic? She’s just short of suggesting surrender or death.

Anti-Mandate folks ARE just whiny little brats…no matter how old they are.

How long is the interval between phone service being cut off and room being clean?

Yup, diplomacy only works if you can establish the ability to bring hurt as well as olive branches.

Love Kate : )

Was waiting for Kate to begin maneuvers. She loves to mess with Danae but rarely does anything really cruel.

Why can’t comics be fun without the vitriol of trolls? Try to see the humor in life and not the hate and derision.

HOW TO TELL:If one of the Wiley Bears enters Danae’s room and holds its nose,it’s time to clean the room.

Yep, send her back to the pre-mandate days of the early 20th century – no cell, no laptop, no video.

The appearance of a single Texas-sized cockroach will change her tune better than any negotiation…

Thats the price she has to pay for collecting unemployment and not going back to work

Who is older, Danae or Kate? Kate is certainly the wiser of the two.

This is a very salient point. I wonder how much federal money goes to Texas, Florida, etc?

A funny family. Throw in an old fashion spanking, that will be an eye opener!

Shouldn’t the first cell read ‘’Sorry, this is a mandate free zone’’? Unless you insert a comma after mandate, maybe.

like I use to tell my guys, I may not be able to make you do your job, but I can make you wish you had.
