I’d like to do it all in one trip: See the AB, catch an outdoor ice sculpture contest, and spend a night in a hotel made of ice. (I get a kick out of the ones where local regulations require a fire extinguisher on the premises.)
There seems to be an impression that the Aurora Borealis only happens in the winter. The best display I have seen was in the summer, grampa’s problem is not that he goes to Florida in the winter, but he goes to bed before sundown.
I’ve seen the aurora borealis, but I rather like grandpa’s original idea about the bucket list. I’ve found that the things you want never live up to your dreams about them.

Clutched at his chest? That doesn’t even mean anything. Clutching is to hold something tightly.

One way to make light of the situation. Not that it makes a particle of difference. :)

I’ve heard of the Aurora Borealis and Aurora Australis, but the Aurora Bryson is news to me

A spectacular aurora, watched in solitary on an icy night, is magnificent. Best thing I ever saw in my life!

Wonderful strip today! Seeing the Northern Lights in person is definitely on my bucket list! Good advice more generally.

The northern lights are not just a winter phenomenon.

Kid teaching grandpa. Sometimes youth can educate their elders by a simple comment or action. Problem is, if they’re watching and seeing.

Surely you can catch the odd AB in Northern Michigan. Anyone?

I’ve been so far north, we had to look south to see them. Nice when there is long nights and no light pollution

If you want to see them, I recommend Reykjavik, Iceland. It’s amazing.
