Sea Monster at 7 O’Clock!!!

Well, wow. This is going to take a while. The first detail that caught me was the lost poster for Fido the crab.

Do people usually throw bait eel?!

This is an uh-mazing drawing!

I’m going to have to look at the introduction page for the cartoon on the Oregonian tomorrow.

Awful nice of Captain Ahab to show up, he can take care of the sea monsters.

Wallace, as always, sees to the heart of the situation when no one else does. Great job, Wallace! Grab those hats! Grab ’em like the wind!

I can almost smell the fish and hear the gulls!

Looks like a place I’d like to go too!

I thought it was Dad behind the guy with the cigar cooking fish for the cats. But, no, he has on glasses and has no eyebrows.

So much to look at/for. I guess my favorite is the cats congregating at one of the stands.

I hope seagull realizes he has a feline comin’ up on his left.

I use a magnifying glass to see everything. Thank you Will Henry for the wonderful comic strip. One of my very favorites.

“Monster” is such a harsh word. In any event, remember that in the classic Frankenstein novel, Victor Frankenstein was the true monster, not his creation. All that guy at the scale is doing, is just trying to find dinner.

So very very much reward in looking deeper and deeper at this one.

Better hurry Wallace, Amelias probably already on the job!

So the sea monster is startled, waking up the dog under the table, who chases the cats at the fish fry, causing a distraction that gives the sea monster a chance to make his/her getaway. No one believes the kids of course.

…and of course, they’re going to end up grabbing the hat of everybody EXCEPT that guy in the bottom left…

Can you just smell the cigar mixed with frigid sea air?

Kids, cats, hats. And touch of Dickens for good measure, Will at his ambient best.

Fido the crab is missing according to the first panel

I’m with Spud on this one. There is no upside to doing it, finding one or not. Though, this does seem like the day he COULD actually find one….

Mr. Henry – I’m hoping you see this comment: Today’s large panel is an absolute cartoon masterpiece! So much to see! I bow to you, sir!

I think the kid in the center, playing with Lobster Man, may be a not so distant relative to our visitor from below.

Is the town’s name Innsmouth?

Who names their crab Fido?!! His name should be Mr. Pinch, or Sir Snapsalot, or Crabcakes, or well no, maybe not Mr Hat….

Guys, do you see the “lost: Fido” sign in panel one? I bet Will Henry hid Fido somewhere in panel 2

Am I the only one that spotted the sea monster? Lower left of the large panel.

I’m thinking Lobster Man is looking pretty suspicious. And the guy weighing the fish looks legit.

I didnt realize the monster is ACTUALLY THERE.

Dear observant fans: Please know that there are a plurality of you/us. For some reason, each person who looks closely seems to think s/he is alone in doing so. This is a false belief, for WH’s art rewards close scrutiny, ergo, unless someone specifically asks for a clue, you can assume those who care to seek have found what you saw.

The sea monsters are not ones to visit.
