We had to replace our drip pot a few months ago and it was difficult to find one that used cone filters. The deeper bed makes for better coffee. Also, non-smart, no timer, etc. My wife found a Krups, cone filter, one button. Itās only extra feature: it shuts the heater off after an hour. I donāt need caffeine to get going, but she does. I just like coffee.
Waste of money, time and bad for the environment, all for bad/stale coffee. For less money they could have brewed a pot enough for three of quality coffee.
Okay, Iāll use this oneā¦no, wait, itās coconut. Seriously, though, I used to buy flavored coffee pods, until I realized that once I add the cream and sugar, I canāt taste the coffee flavor any more. (Canāt taste the flavor? Excuse me a minute or 20ā¦COVID-19 test negative ā it must be the cream and sugar, then)
For the 1 cup I have Monday -Friday the keurig with refillable pod is good. But 3-4 cups on the weekends is a pain. I might move onto an old fashioned percolator.
I can remember when Mr. Coffee introduced their drip brewer that was a quantum leap from percolators and became a huge success as a result. Hiring āJoltinā Joe DiMaggio to do their commercials was an added touch of genius. On the other end of the spectrum, the Keurig coffee maker is one of the biggest scams ever inflicted on the human race. Yet, inexplicably, people spend big bucks to buy them to have the privilege of also overspending on the coffee. They ignore the age old rule of āIf it aināt broke, donāt FIX it!ā
I bought a Bosch Tassimo espresso/coffee/tea/cocoa maker in France. I loved it and tried using it in the States with a voltage converter, but the available pods were just not as good (sob) ā¦
We have a Keurig for occasional use. I bought a reusable filter so we can brew our coffee of choice, dark roast Lavazza beans. We have never tried the pods because they are all medium roast. Keurig doesnāt heat the water hot enough so I still use my 10 year old stovetop espresso maker.
I always set Mr. Coffee up the night before. Three scoops of Dunkin House Blend for a full pot. Set to brew ten minutes before my alarm goes off. Pour a cup and sip while I shave.
Millions and millions of pods go into trash every single day. They are completely non-recyclable. Not that anyone gives a damn. Give me death if I cannot have my convenience?

Totally unfair of the universe to make you CREATE your caffeine drink BEFORE you are caffeinated. Iām convinced this is the reason K-cups have taken over the market: You can almost just push the button and take a tinynapĀ© until itās ready.
