Coming Soon đ At the beginning of April, youâll be
introduced to a brand-new GoComics! See more information here. Subscribers, check your
email for more details.
They already have a driver that is charged with manslaughter, while sitting in the driverâs seat. His Tesla was set on auto pilot, it ran a red light, struck a car in the intersection, killing a passenger. Even though Telsa/Musk labeled it âauto pilotâ.
I was wondering if the car companies could walk away when this happens. What kind of logic is the car is in auto pilot mode, but you need to grab the wheel in an emergency.
Itâs not a phone. Itâs a computer with built in wireless communication capabilities. It should be called a âcomâ, both for computer and communications. Whereâs my com?
I spend a lot of time removing apps from my phone that are put on there by programmers that think I need them. About the time I get it the way I like it they do another update.
Just wait until some hacker figures out to hack into every self driving car at rush hour on the L.A. freeway. Even if itâs only one car in twenty the mayhem would be mind boggling. Tin hat stuff? I reckon but the very thought of it is scary.
I will never be totally comfortable with self-driving vehicles. Iâve been involved with technology most of my life. More often it is very reliable, but when it fails, the results can be disastrous.
I am not opposed to self-driving cars. Sure, it will take a lot more time to perfect them (probably after my lifetime) and there will be setbacks (some of a tragic nature, no doubt). But a quick Google query says that, according to stats from 2016, in the US alone the average number of people that died in auto accidents each day was 102. Weâre not giving up our cars so letâs find a way, or many ways, to reduce that number considerably.
What annoys the heck out of me is that I will now have to buy â yet again â a new cell phone as my 4G (yes â 4G, not 3G) will no longer work by the end of 2022. It is not only 3G phones which are being discontinued â some 4Gs are also.
The phone I have just about fits into my pocket to be carried outside the house and there are no phones that small (and it is far from small) â husband thinks he found one that is âonlyâ half inch longer (add a rubber back cover and we will be at an inch as he is working the one I have now with same on). Not sure how the heck I am going to carry it anyplace unless I walk around holding it my hand â and for the daily spam texts, the text from him when it is time for us to leave and the spam phone call once a week or so â that is a terribly annoying thing to have to do.
Let alone â having to come up the money to buy a new phone and finding one that is cheap enough while being small enough.

I remember when all you needed to do with a phone was pick up the receiver and dial a number.

It can be frustrating. Just like computers you canât get them to do what you want them to do. They just keep doing what you tell them to do.

There already exists a foreshadowing of how bad self-driving cars will be. The unfortunately named AI feature, âAutocorrectâ.

Just wait for self-flying planes and 18 wheelers, war machines which are semi- or fully autonomous, etc.

Okay Arlo âHow are you looking forward to cars that drive themselves?â

My wifeâs new Samsung is actually usable. All of her prior phones would either ignore my finger or pickup on the ones near the edge and do whatever.

Of course, it is possible that self-driving cars might reduce DUI homicides

I am certainly looking forward to self-driving cars, consider how the drivers do so poorly.

They do have operations manuals if you donât want to learn it the hard way.

I recently saw a video of 2 17-yr-olds trying to figure out how to use an old rotary-dial phone. They had 4 minutes, and did not do it. Hilarious!
