I like the action moves in P. 1. and P. 2. and the pause pose in P. 3 while Tracy relates the, taken lasciviously by some filth minded posters (you know who you are) in here, dirty reveal on Constance. The name “Constance” is rather uncommon and so like its inclusion here.
Um, on February 18th & 19th there was no mention they knew the killer of Rabbit. The body was found in another city, which said it the killing had happened in Tracy-ville. (We won’t ask how they knew that.) Clearly the body had been identified. But we are not told his killer was identified, or his employer (who turns out to have been the same guy: Yeti). In this strip the police know that Rabbit was both employed by Yeti and killed by Yeti. How did they find this out? There was no evidence they knew this a week ago. Let’s imagine Liz found this out while Tracy and Sam were drinking coffee. How in the heck does this tell them Constance is working for Yeti? Another gigantic leap of faith?
There it is. She has no interest in revenge, apparently. It’s all about the money. At her level of intelligence, I guess Yeti was the best option she had.
1-DT: Let’s see now – we both put on our suit coats; I cinched up my tie; we’re putting on our cold weather coats…TIME! Fifteen minutes!
2-SAM: That’s pretty good! Think we’ll get to those Hit-n-Run perps before SWAT does?
DT: Timing is everything…
3-…We don’t want to get there so soon that we might have to get involved in the arrest and we don’t want to get there so late that the TV crews found someone else to interview. But don’t worry, Sam. I got this down to a science.
The city government in Tracy land must be cheap. They cannot afford a fleet of unmarked vehicles for its detectives? When I watched tv shows like Kojak, Hunter plus Law & Order…their detectives have unmarked cars. Tracy and Sam might as well trade in their civilian clothes for police uniforms.
Maybe it’s just…but wouldn’t Tracy and Sam been better off until Ferret and Ape reached their destination? Who is to say the place Ferret and Ape are headed to is on Poplar Street. How do Tracy and Sam justify the gas mileage? Oh wait a minute, they have “seniority” they don’t have to turn in any trip tickets to the Vehicles Maintenance Department.
Looks like 198.23… got a quote book for Christmas. Good to see Sam and Dick leave the office. Hope they have sunscreen because it’s been awhile since they’ve zventured outside
Please bring back the Gouldian phrase “Non Compis Mentis!”
If Ape&Ferret don’t deserve it,nobody ever will.
Small article in the NEW YORK DAILY NEWS today about a guy who was arrested burglarizing the locker room at a police precinct.A&F have apparently started a school.
Tough, gritty, seasoned. That’s our Dick Tracy (panel 3)!
Today’s sequence makes it seem a little more reasonable for the MCU to be going after the Little Red Kia, given that Tracy (and Sam) do know that Constance “Ferrret” Dooley is the driver and do know of her link to Yeti through the late, unfortunate Tom “Rabbit” Dooley. But they seem still to be unaware of her link and Ape’s (through Yeti) to the Moran and other gangland boss murders. But the net is tightening inexorably….

Panel 2 has a nice use of shadow. I’m starting to really take notice of the it in this current story.

Good morning™, everyone!
Despite the fears of Mark yesterday, it looks like “Poplar” is spelled correctly. Sounds like a chase might be coming up.
