That is food creation. Cooking is a somewhat more elaborate way to join ingredients to make something that (you hope) will be tasty.

If you mix 2 or more ingredients and heat them up, that’s cooking.

I’ll take the corn chips

Your mix is good with Craisins, too.

The lad will feel a little better about himself all day. Not a bad thing.

Gorp. Add some plain M&Ms, too.

But what’s wrong with corn chips? Corn is a vegetable.

Baby steps. He’s learned to make his own mix instead of buying a bag with extra salt and preservatives. Learning is good. Baby steps.

Cooking sometimes involves open flames. Those can be dangerous. Nut mixtures — not so much.

Pols go the same. Raising gas prices and saying it’s for the war effort…

As we prepare for yet another semi-annual episode of collective national insanity, let me point out to all prospective candidates for Congress that your one sure-fire campaign issue that would rally support from the entire political spectrum would be to end forever the confusing, useless, expensive, and totally ineffective switching back and forth from Daylight Saving to ironically named “Standard” Time. For the love of God, just PICK ONE and stick to it!

It’s a form of cooking. It’s not one of the more skill-intensive forms, but that just means it’s a perfect starting point for a kid.

Well if they can call throwing something in the microwave, cooking. Then mixing up your own trail mix, also qualifies.

You don’t have to necessarily heat food to call it cooking. I’ve mixed some nuts, raisins, and M&Ms for trail mix.
