Mr. View, I think, is having the same reaction that Tracy did. The very idea of Tonsils brings back bad memories for her, I would think.

So, what’s the history between Tonsils and Dot anyway?

Why does it always seem to be snowing in Tracyville?

Or who thought this was a good idea? I’m going with Vitamin again. Having been totally clueless about Tracy he now thinks Dot View will be impressed with his new discovery.

(To recap what others have said. She saw potential in the original as he began and tried to develop his talent. Mobsters who thought Tonsils knew something and might squeal to the police kidnaped them – dumping Dot out of town and doing a number of Tonsils. Tonsils survived and just wanted to forget anything. Someone saw him and alerted Dot, frightened at seeing her Tonsils started a fire and took it on the lam. Now guilty of arson things continued to slide for the mediocre talent.)

Vitamin must have seen an appearance of Tonsils on Dot’s show, but at 160 years old his memory is vague on the other details.

MISS HATHAWAY: Moi? Play a joke on the best boss in the world? Perish the thought! Oh, by the way, I booked a Tonsil’s imitator as your featured guest tomorrow. Say, didn’t you date the real Tonsils at some point? heh heh, take that bee-atch!

DOT: ARRRRRGGGGGHHHHH!!!!

The booking agent for The Dot View Show approved the Tonsils imitator as a guest. There would be plenty of extra viewers and far more clicks on the app. Having an “ex” who was involved with Mr. Crime, committed murder, attempted to kill Dick Tracy, and was devoured alive (until he wasn’t) by a barracuda makes for an episode of the show that sells itself. Clickity-click. Advertisers can’t get enough.

I like that Dot is far closer to Gould’s rendering than the one-off of ten years ago. Also, the rendering of the show’s iconic lettering is quality work.

Information on her phone is so overwhelming…she’s getting knock knees.

If that singer is appearing on Dot’s show, will Vitamin take credit for it?

I notice that the Dot View Show is on the same network as Wendy Wichell.

What happened to the dick tracy I remember? Dark, mysterious, horrible villains, noir look, and murky, not well done by today’s standards, but very expressive artwork! (especially the heavy black print on yells, screams, and those neat little arrows pointing to major facts!)

Dot looks good for being about 70 years old.

If it follows on from Vitamin not know Tonsils history with DT, could it also be a possible that he also didn’t know Tonsils relationship wit Dot?

Whoever this Dot View is, I can see by the shadow she’s way more than red hot.

The much put-upon assistant to Dot View must bear the diva’s wrath, as is custom with “stars” and “staff” through much of the TV culture. But who is the “last-minute substitution,” Dot View fans? Could it be (gasp!) Tonsils Impersonator?!
