Just did that yesterday. The doc wrote me a prescription for computer glasses at my request.

Okay … Now open the other eye … Turn and see if you can you see the chart with the letters on it. Raise your left foot and while standing balanced on your right foot tell me what letters you see on the chart – saying them in alphabetical order.

Old joke: can you read the chart? Sure. I know all those guys.

I had one eye covered. The ophthalmologist’s assistant told me to cover the other eye. So I covered that one too. She asked me, “What can you read now?” “Nothing,” I replied.

maybe he should have told him to open the eye that didn’t have his palm over it.

But what are the letters written on the palm of your hand?

Betcha you can’t pronounce it.

“Exobnacyrtl” sounds like some kind of new prescription drug. “Will make you feel better. Side effects include nausea, muscle aches, fatigue, and dizziness. Some patients experience a rare heart complication leading to death. Tell your doctor if you feel any chest pains. Do not stop taking Exobnacyrtl without talking to your doctor.”

Interviewer: Where do you see yourself in 5 years?

Literal-minded applicant: In the mirror, same as always.

Eye charts use certain letters. You will not see X B A Y or R.

When I cover my left eye, I can often read the 20/15 line (with my glasses on). When I cover my right eye, I can sometimes tell that there’s something dark in that big white rectangle.

Gotta get in a little bragging… I last had my eyes checked 2 years ago; 20/15+ (I could read some, but not all, of the 10 line). :D Makes you wonder what else I (don’t) have going on in my life that that’s what I brag about! ;)
