1. Paul Gauthier is apparently unaware of safe distance rules when it comes to hammering, but that’s OK because April is so cute with her hammering.
2. I suspect there is a tune here that is being recreated by the long BANGs and the short TAPs. Can you figure out what it is before Elly gives us the answer?
3. Elly is such a stickler for conformity that she must regulate even the sound effects occurring in her house.
4. Paul Gauthier is the one who ends up taking care of April while still working on the house. Farley is really falling down on the job. Where is that dog when you need him?
Sigh, we have to have our deck destroyed and rebuilt (it was built in 1972 and I live in the Northwest where we have many names for the liquid that falls from clouds). I am not looking forward to the 7 am starts being a night person.
I used to work at an Ace Hardware store, we had several female tool heads who were regular customers. In fact our plumbing expert in the store was female. That used to really tie a knot in the knickers of some of the old mossy backs who came in the store. (Yes, mossy backs do wear knickers)
I did that with my child when they were three-ish. I gave them something similar to what I was working on and said I needed that for later; and they happily banged away, or whatever, for the time I was working on my project nearby. A couple pieces of wood, a few nails, and a small hammer (make it like a fence); or a small wrench and a couple packages of bolts and nuts needed screwed together. Kept them busy for the duration.

A few months ago, my six-year-old granddaughter and her uncle worked together to build a portable outside planter. She loved using the electric drill.
