They didn’t know what they were missing

At that age, it usually is all about “me”.

well, at least Nelson didn’t have this conversation with Earl because Earl would say it was Nelson at the camera taking the picture

We took the whole family Yosemite once. Our youngest was in diapers. There was a powerful nighttime windstorm that blew a tree over on a cabin near ours and killed the campers inside. We were evacuated to the main lodge along with scores of other families. We were the only ones who thought to grab a package of diapers. We were packed in like sardines with no beds and lots of crying babies. We were the most popular family because we had the diapers. No one got much sleep that night. The next time we went I got food poisoning at the Ahwahnee.

That kid has so much to learn. Even though it is just a comic.

They had just made the acquaintance of a short, hairy guy with a big orange mustache. Name of Sam, I believe.

Out of the mouth of babes…

Today would have been a good day to discuss the whereabouts and/or circumstances of Nelson’s biological father. Do any of you long term readers know the backstory ?

Well Nelson when couples start off they usually are happy. But as times passes and they age, they grow resentful of each other. Lots of old age couples bicker and fight.

When I was five years old our family visited Yosemite and saw something that they used to do every night.A bonfire was pushed over the cliff next to the high waterfall sending a beautiful large fire fall of burning wood and sparks down along the face of the cliff. I’m seventy years old now so this was around 1955 or so. I still remember it like it was yesterday.

Nor Roscoe. And, this Wisconsin boy Is proud to say the place was made famous by another Wisconsin boy.

“You saw Yosemite Sam? Cool! Was Bugs Bunny there too?”

Reminds me of the old joke: “Honey, remember how happy we were 30 years ago?” “But 30 years ago we didn’t even know each other!” “Exactly”.

Why is the kid asking the dog? The cat would be more understanding!
