Let us see what the rebubliguns have to offer if they are re-elected:

They will allow industries to decimate the environment.

They will cut social programs like lunches for kids who made the mistake of being born into poorer families.

They will remove what little healthcare coverage you have left.

They will impose their religions on your schools and stifle science and history.

They will impose their twisted ideas of people with alternate sexual and gender identities and restrict their rights.

They will impose their will on women’s rights.

They will cut taxes for the rich and claim there is no money for infrastructure.

Worst of ALL, they will make sure to rig all elections so that even though they have a minority approval they will always win the next elections (ie. kill democracy in your country.

Let’s see. The leaked draft opinion said the decision on abortions belongs to the states not the federal government. Somehow they decided it made abortion illegal which it did not. To put it in terms they understand it is similar to their thinking about marijuana. Next we will hear about the disadvantage people who can’t get to a state that allows abortion to take care of rape and incest.

There are at least 12 methods of birth control, effectiveness is about 98%, if used then most abortions are never an issue. Gawd but I hate facts.

The Republican’s goal for America is to return it to the 1770s, when ONLY Straight, Rich, White, “Christian”, Conservative MEN could make ANY DECISIONS, and ALL minorities, women, and everyone else who didn’t fit that description had to Kow-tow to them.

Let us not forget that Republicans are defenders of rights such as:

The right to not wear a mask and infect everyone else

The right to ban books that provide accurate history inconsistent with their political beliefs.

The right to tell a woman that she must have a baby even if she “done got herself raped.”

The right to penalize companies for criticizing homophobia.

The right to provide easy access for minors (under the age of 21) to weapons of mass murder.

The right to use the name of Christ to force Evangelical Christian beliefs on the nation. After all, that is WJWD.

The Democrats Idea of “democracy”. If you have a new source, like Daily Wire, that has more viewers than CNN, that is a “threat to democracy” (this was recently said by them, or was it MSNBC).

    Other “treats to democracy”

If you say something democrats disagree with.

If you use the “wrong pronoun”.

If you think rioting by BLM is bad

IF you don’t take an experimental mRNA jab.

    etc…

In other words, if you don’t do what the democrats tell you and disagree with them publicazlly, you are a “threat to democracy”!

    What a bunch of loons.

There must be a lot of misogynist women in the US, or the country would be more liberal and truly democratic… it’s like voting against your own best interests. But then, American intelligence and wisdom is seldom discussed as it just doesn’t seem to exist..

When a single member of congress can stall an entire bill because he/she wants a vote on a pet project, it indicates that the democratic process is flawed beyond all reason and needs to change.

But, imagine a constitutional convention being held in the current climate of misinformation, mistrust, religious bias, and bigotry, with tv news hacks compounding the idiocy. Danté’s Inferno would not contain enough circles.

Let me see. if I understand. Overturning a decision by seven white men and allowing it to be voted on by people elected the people is “Stashing Democracy in a black hole”. I think someone has a poor definition of democracy.

We don’t have a democracy, we have a constitutional republic. That’s so moronic ideas embraced by propagandized people aren’t forced on the rest of the citizens that have matured past the adolescent mentality necessary for the embrace of propaganda.

In this REPUBLIC we protect the rights of the minority from the tyranny of the majority. The smaller states can’t be easily dominated by big states (hence, the senate.j Those with different religious views. Those who aren’t part of the racial majority. And, yes, those innocents who are unborn.

I generally enjoy Wiley, but he doesn’t seem to quite get that we aren’t a democracy (we’re a republic, look it up), or that the Senate represents the states, not the people directly… that is what the house does.

Even when the bogus ‘out of thin air’ Roe vs Wade decision is overturned, the Constitution says: “What ISN’T enumerated in the Federal Constitution is left up to the States and people.”That’s why leftist States like New York and California will KEEP their State laws allowing the killing of human babies up to birth. They have also promised to subsidize the travel cost to keep abortion available. The State laws that say: "The baby can be killed AFTER it’s on a table [and some activists say: “For 28 days after birth!”] will be struck down, because that IS murder.

    https://www.ThisDayTrivia.com/trivia/june-8?f=Thomas-Paine-death#Thomas-Paine-deathThomas Paine

    Died June 8, 1809 b. 1737

American patriot. He wrote Common Sense (1776) which advocated American independence and The Age of Reason (1795) which argued for deism and the existence of a creator God, but criticized institutionalized religion and the legitimacy of the Bible. After the American Revolution, Paine participated in the French Revolution, writing the Rights of Man (1791) in support of the French Revolution and in defense of the rights of the people to overthrow their government. In 1793, he was arrested and placed in a Paris prison, where he worked on The Age of Reason. Paine was released from prison after almost a year, largely due to the efforts of future U.S. President James Monroe, then American Minister to France.Quote: “To argue with a man who has renounced the use and authority of reason, and whose philosophy consists in holding humanity in contempt, is like administering medicine to the dead, or endeavoring to convert an atheist by scripture.”

Is Wiley Miller ending the Non Sequitur strip? Or giving up cartooning? I’m enjoying this week’s strips. But it seems to me that this type of material loses readership and causes strips to be removed from newspaper comics pages.

But if the strip is ending, he has nothing to lose and can cut loose.

Non Sequitur is one of four strips I read every day. I will miss it!

There’s plenty of blame to go around on both sides, but let’s put most of it where it belongs. The 1% that controls us all. Not complaining, just stating the fact. Another fact. As unlikely as it is to happen, 99% of us can take their wealth away any time we realize it. Doesn’t have to be bloody, just a few middle management types that can transfer their money to the rest of us. The 1% do nothing useful, so why not get rid of them ? It will never happen, we will just keep gripping about how unfair it is and nothing changes. Not to worry, society has about 500 years left and the species might make 1,000. Climate change ? What’s that and why should we do anything about it ?

I wonder who would be willing to enforce anti-abortion laws. Like, arresting and prosecuting women and physicians and clergy will win you lots of votes in the next election. Or maybe they’d hire a special force of sexual police. I’m sure that there’s lots of spare money for that.

Both sides in this so-called “debate” have swallowed, hook, line, and sinker, the idea that the authority of the state can extend inside the body of a citizen.

Neither side has thought the matter through.

The laws-should-control-medical-decisions group accept that some abortions will be allowed.   They don’t realized that it is clear that a woman who refuses a medically-necessary abortion is suicidally insane, and must be restrained for her own good.   Once that is firmly established, it is obvious that defective children must not be allowed to become a burden on the state, and it’s hardly a skip from there to aborting children who will not be brought up to be good, productive citizens of the state.

The “choice” group have failed to consider the consequences of living in a society where persons who find it inconvenient to have someone helplessly dependent on them are expected to kill the inconvenience and incinerate the body.

Yeah… the Senate “stashed away the concept of democracy”… by the Supreme Court apparently being on the cusp of allowing a major policy area to be decided by the democratic process.

I suppose that makes “sense” if you define “undemocratic” as “any outcome you do not like.”
