It’s very rare to see Snoopy demonstrating loyalty and love for Charlie Brown like he does here. That’s why this is one of my favourite Peanuts strips.
Today the bully runs to tell his parents that he was bitten by a dangerous dog and they call the police. Snoopy and Charlie Brown get arrested and they end up in court. What a mess.
I have a great comment from the old TV series, Kung Fu, but GoComics informs the quote includes a word from its “banned” list (?) so I can’t post it. (If you’re familiar with the show, you probably know what I mean…)
Let’s see… My opinion… General Pershing must have sensed that one of his allies was captured and being interrogated and therefore called on the only, um, person who could save him, the great World War I Flying Ace. The great World War I Flying Ace steals his own plane that he rented out and flies to Waffletown on a mission to save the poor defenseless person with the valuable object. He then proceeds to bite the hand of the enemy and grabs the ball and gives it to the captive person and then picks him up and carries him away!! What I find funny is that Snoopy is carrying Charlie Brown over his head as if he were as light as a pumpkin or something!!!! And yes, I think the World War I Flying Ace picked the ball up because the prisoner was probably too dazed and froze at what just happened to pick the ball up.

this must’ve been the mission Snoopy had to take care of, causing Peppermint Patty to lose the powerpuff derby.

Always one of my favorite of this strip—Snoopy’s fantasy life intersects with Charlie Brown’s lousy luck and saves the day.

Who ever would have thought a Joe Shalabotnik autographed baseball would have ended up in the hands of a peaceful protestor?

I thought Charlie Brown was in Waffletown. Then again, Snoopy thinks he’s in France, so what’s the point in arguing?
