Okay… don’t people usually know when they’re thirsty and are going to the fridge to grab a drink as opposed to when they’re thinking of what kinda lunch meal they can put together?

If she was just thirsty, I don’t think she needed to take a pic of the fridge.

Frank is from the generation where they learned how to score some coke. Evans, on the other hand, has still not learned how to profit from product placement.

Refrigerators used to be called “ice boxes” because a chunk of ice literally kept the food cold. Opening the would let the cold air out causing the ice to melt faster, So back then there a literal reason to not keep the door open long. With electric refrigeration that not long applies. People who worry about leaving the refrigerator door open must have been born in the 1920s.

1968 called and wants its refrigerator back.

Luann, if you were so thirsty why not just drink the coke? oh, maybe it wasn’t cold enough for her. so, she left it in the fridge to remind her it’s there. Well she’s in for disappointment when she goes to have the coke and finds it’s gone.

In the end, was it all Frank’s elaborate plan to have time to get the best food before Luann? Probably not, but that’s what happens and Bernice laughs. Bernice loves being with the Degroots, there’s never a dull moment.

OK, Frank—now go to the store and buy another six-pack of Coke!!

BTW, I really don’t like cola; my favorites are root beer and Dr. Pepper.

Does Coke give Greg funding for product placement? What’s next Folger’s by the coffee maker or LuAnn using a Dyson vacuum??? Or the family getting a Hyundai SUV!!!

I was thinking it would be nice to have a beverage fridge with a glass door. Now, where to put it? Duh, right next to the recliner!

My brother, you leave the fridge door open for more than a nanosecond and he goes ballistic. Same with the front door. When he visits me, it is fun. I leave the front door open a lot and same with the fridge.

Isn’t it kind of a standard joke about teenagers (specially teen boys,) standing in front of open refrigerators. contemplating what they want, and, the father posting a picture of the contents, to keep from wasting the electricity needed to keep the ‘fridge cool, the light on?Of course, now there are “smart” refrigerators that have a display of what’s inside, and, complies a list of what’s needed.

Frank wasn’t moving very fast at all, Luann. Maybe a better phrase would be “there’s no rush at all to outsmart this girl”.

It took her, what, all of one second to decide she wanted the Coke? Could’ve done that with the fridge door open. Better luck next time!

I think Luann looks very cute today—-nice and summery. And it’s funny that Dad put one over on her. And he didn’t even realize it.

Why are people obsessed about possible product placement. I mean so the ff what?

Interesting to note that the “Coke” can design has become so famous that we automatically recognize it in the last panel. We are good consumer drones.

Coke is not to be consumed in its pure state. It must be cut with whiskey or rum to be palatable for an adult.
