Hating someone doesn’t bother them at all. Usually, they are oblivious to your feelings and don’t care.

The word “hate” really is used too much these days. Just because someone disagrees with something, that doesn’t mean that they hate it or the one who supports it.

Loathing is the essence of Rat’s being.

Isn’t loathe the same thing as hate?

Cue song from Wicked: "Loathing, unadulterated loathing, For your face, your voice, your clothing. . . " I will say that there are very few people in my life that I’ve hated but there is one who I still loathe and despise with every fiber of my being, and unfortunately HE WON’T GO AWAY. If only he’d just crawl back to his golf course and STAY THERE.

In this case, HATE is in order….

The verb does not exist that fully describes my detestation for that living threat to humanity. Fifty guesses who I mean.

Rat seems to have an extensive vocabulary.

Goat should have known that Rat wouldn’t listen.

Actually I do think that loathe is a milder word, at least when applied to another person.

Rat: I hate that moron.

Goat: You really should never say ‘I hate someone’.

Rat: I loathe the moron the keyed your and my car.

Goat: I hate that moron.

There is a weird war on words going on. Perhaps an extension of peoples desire to kill everything that is an inconvenience, or worse.

People no longer say “that’s bad.” You have to say “that’s not ok.” Ridiculous! As if the utterance of the word will induce spontaneous reproduction of all things bad.

There is nothing “wrong” with hatred. It is necessary and inseparable from life, as night is necessary along with day.

Expression of hatred- good.

Existing in hatred- bad

If I burn my hand on the stove, am I a bad person for screaming bloody heII?

If I henceforth attempt to destroy all cooktops, well that is misguided and psychotic.

If someone cuts me off in traffic and almost causes an accident, I will get angry and yell terrible things at her. That is not the time to be all zen. Get angry and Then let it go.

If I carry that anger around all day and direct it towards innocent people, then I have a problem. That is unhealthy. You have become rat.

There is a difference.

Baby steps but in the right direction…..

I will usually say ‘I have a strong dislike for that person’, but even that can seem harsh at times.

I feel that way about 45

Rat is a sophist. Not sophisticated, but still able to chop logic to suit himself….

“hate” is so overused that “loathe” almost sounds worse by seeming more personal.

I loathe hydrangeas.

I always reiderate hate is a horrible word. I prefer dislike or dislike immensely

I mean he’s right but Goat just sounds so preachy here that I can’t support that either.
