    You’re correct there Hammie, it wasn’t a comet. However, it was a meteorite and it was WWWAAAYYY bigger than a soccer ball, so consider yourself lucky.

    If it landed, its remains are meteorite. If it is traveling through the atmosphere, it is a meteor.If it is in space, it is a meteoroid or an asteroid.
