It seems some people are missing the point here. Avocados are perfectly ripe for about 15 minutes. After that they begin to rot. You have to eat them when they’re ready, not when you’re ready. Lunch was going to be too late.
Our chef buddy brought avocado pie to our men’s coffee group. It was good. It was made from an avocado, sweetened condensed milk, and lime juice, on a graham cracker crust with meringue topping. Thanks, Ken!
I love avocados, but yes, they ripen too fast too quickly it seems, and then the taste is awful. I do really like avocado toast (with salt and pepper and salsa), but since it is supposed to be a classic thing for the Millennial generation, am I allowed to like it, being almost 70? Also, there seems to be a lot of avocados in the stores lately (more than I recall from past years).
No avocados or eating in bed here. Former not liked and latter very messy – eating only in kitchen and dining room (latter is husband’s continuation of his family’s rules, though in their case the dining room was NEVER used).
No breakfast when waking either. At around 2 to 3 am husband will come downstairs to the kitchen from our home office and we will have “snack” our third meal of the day which replaced breakfast.

Come on Arlo, you can do better the that. I guess breakfast in bed is what counts.

Neither my wife nor I like avocado in any form. The only time I eat it is if I forget to tell the waiter – “no guac”.

Avocados grow on trees. My sister in southern Florida just lost her avocado tree to the hurricane. Fortunately the mango tree survived.

Yeah they would probably go bad by lunchtime. Window of ripeness is very short.
