It looks like the way my wife explains things. She gets off on tangents from time-to-time….

I know someone at work like that – keeps going around and all over the place and never getting to the point. Easily waste half an hour on a 5 min conversation

Mom actually is thinking of something else and not really listening. Probably wondering where her cell phone is and who she can call.

Looks like a “conversation” with my Mom (but I really do miss listening to her ramblings every Sunday; now I don’t know what someone I don’t know had to eat after their cousin’s funeral in a town I’ve never heard of………)

She always told me (I mean since her 30s) that when people stared to say she was getting senile, I had to defend her and say "No, she’s always been this way.

By the looks of her speech pattern, she might be serpent-teen.

One time I was home on leave to New York and I happened to have a squadron mate with me who was from a rural town in Georgia.

My mom, my sister and a cousin were there and they were discussing an upcoming wedding.

Now, when the women in our family get together to talk there is always more than one conversation going on. In fact, there is usually more conversations in the air than there are the mathematical permutations based on the number of participants.

Having a Y chromosome, I am not capable of participating in these verbal whirlwinds. I’m lucky enough just to keep pace with them.

When the talking finally ended, my friend remarked, “It would have taken my momma and my aunts a week to have that conversation.”

They are your kids. You love them and you listen. Then 20 years later you wish you could hear their little voices tell their stories all over again.

Nope. She’s repeating any of uncle Joe’s speeches. Maybe the one about the non existent purple heart, or the existent stuff on Hunter’s laptop.
