More of a cult than a marriage

My wife found a refrigerator magnet that reads “Marriage is a relationship where one person is always right and the other is the husband.”

He is teaching Nelson the reason why he shouldn’t ever marry.

It’s a good thing that they’re together … so whenever he starts think otherwise, she’s always there to remind him.

That’s right Earl, just remember that. And can you teach it to my husband?

And to repeat myself, if for any highly unlikely reason you should happen to be right, apologize immediately.

Tsunami…..The T is silent. Honest…..The H is silent. Psychology…..The P is silent. Knife…..The K is silent.Wife…..The Husband is silent.

Earl is like a philosopher. A kind of Confuse-Us. And Nelson on his own path is a Kiddhartha.

Nelson is so fortunate to have his grandparents so close by…

My wife and I have the exact opposite, we argue forever and only give way when proven wrong!

I and her like that, we get a good sense of reality which is refreshing!

A comic once said, ‘My wife and I share all the responsibilities. She handles the kids, the house, and the finances, and I handle the big stuff, like getting up the leaves in fall and the car inspection, what to do with the moon, launching the space shuttle, stuff like that.’

Marriage seems to be mostly a process of adaptation -adjusting one’s views to include a partner’s opinions or the reverse. Sometimes one gets it right, sometimes not. So long as the outcome includes love, respect, and frequent hugs, - as ours has for many years — life is good.

“We disagree sometimes”…as evidenced by Nelson yesterday, at a volume loud enough for him to hear…

When my wife and I have an argument, I always get the last word in, and that word is “sorry”.

“As long as she keeps feeding me”, right, Earl?

I thought I was the only one with that marriage

As long as she doesn’t bite your head off.

This makes me sad if it’s how some couples exist.

So, the standard gender roles in a traditional marriage.

Nelson is learning tricks of the trade….

When you have two strong-willed, opinionated people sharing their love and their life – one with a firey Latin temperament and the other with an explosive Irish temper – one a Tauran and the other a Scorpian – there’s bound to be some very spirited conversations and discussions. Life is never boring or dull in our household! Strangely, given our personalities, there’s much more peace and harmony in our home than discord. Disagreements are usually quickly and amicably settled – without setting off World War III.

One thing marriage has taught me … winning isn’t everything.

Awwwwwwwww……. he admits it WITHOUT her around.

I don’t talk about the illustrations she creates beyond saying that I like them and she does not talk about oncology beyond making getting regular check ups.

Earls living a life, where Death would be a release.
