How well does a leaf blower work with horse droppings?

Nope. Leaf blowers and dirt roads do NOT play nice together (Says someone with trees and a dirt/gravel driveway).

They’ve been doing a lot of “cleaning up” around my place, lately, and I wish they’d stop!

In the summer, I wake up to the sound of the birds chirping away. In the fall, it’s the roar of the leaf blowers.

Our HOA hires a landscaping service for the public areas, so it’s not just one or two scattered about, it’s a whole battalion of them. It sounds like an oncoming tank column.

The way blowers are used causes problems I think could be avoided. They list themselves as landscapers. I think that should be landscrapers, as they remove the leaves, grass seed, mulch, shallow rooted plants, etc, and leave bare soil behind. And that’s in addition to blowing dirt on second story windows and vehicles. I wish I was still able to rake and bag or at least find a crew that would do it that way. The extra cost in time and effort would still be worth it and the silence would be a great benefit.

Current wisdom is that mulching leaves is healthier for your lawn.

They work very well. I use one. My neighbors use them. It’s just part of suburban life now.

I wish they were only used seasonally in my neighborhood. Every weekday for sure, and most Saturdays, that’s the sound we hear. People are blowing grass trimmings and DIRT into the air and out of their yard for 30-45 minutes. Then, their neighbor or the wind blows most of it right back. Meanwhile, I have grass growing which I didn’t plant, and everyone’s kids have asthma.

The seasonal leaf blowing and powerwashing is a plague in my neighborhood; just when you think you can get some quiet time outside to garden, talk to a human, or read a book. Please at least get the battery powered ones!
