Coming Soon 👀 At the beginning of April, you’ll be
introduced to a brand-new GoComics! See more information here. Subscribers, check your
email for more details.
Pay no attention to their nonsense Wanda. They’re just trying to sway you to blow a bunch of money on the van which it might not need. Have someone else look at it.
I was pretty much forced to get another vehicle because the mechanic refused to work on it. To be fair, she was over 300,000 miles and 27 years old. One engine, three clutches, two transmissions. Miss her. She deserved better than being sold to the scrap yard.
My last American car (Oldsmobile) was a van like that. Have driven imports since then and never looked back. Maybe, possibly, American auto makers have wised up, but not willing to bet the price of a new or certified used car on it to find out.
I had a mechanic actually pull my air filter out of my car and show it to me when he told me it needed replacement. When I tell you that thing was SHOT, I’m surprised it even did anything with how bad it looked: holes, stains, stuff embedded in it… I go to him regularly since because he actually SHOWS me how it looks, not just TELL me. You can’t be a more honest businessman than that!
Had my car in for an oil and filter change the other day. The mechanic, not the service manager, came out and told me I had an oil pan leak and drive seal leaking. I asked, “Leaking or seeping?” He replied, “Leaking”. I said, “Then why isn’t there signs of oil drippings on my garage floor?” He turned and walked off.

That bald guy, when I read his words in the last strip, seemed so scammy and fake..I do not trust this dealership.

Sometimes a dealership doesn’t want you to spend a lot of money fixing your current, paid-for, ride. They want to sell you a new one.

Oh no! Not the Oxymoron*! It’s like the sixth MacPherson!
*That is what the guy at the car dealership said the van was called when the MacPhersons bought it (back when Zoe was a baby).

Bentora, bentora, supēsu pīpuru!
(At least I think that’s how it’s spelled in Japanese rōmaji.)

Of course the van dies right after they shelled out the big bucks for the furnace.

Wow! This could be an historic day! There may be a new family car on the horizon. IF, that is, they can find one in this current market. ;)

I’m surprised his nose has not broken the windshield.

At least the mechanic didn’t call the significant other and tell them to book that dream vacation while Wanda was still there.

Don’t go to a dealership unless it’s warranty work. Find a good local mechanic.

The oil in the engine is just as good as it was when you inherited it 15 years ago.
(Not that it was especially good back then either.)

My minivan is under repair now. This whole series feels like it is just for me.

They always do that. You could take a brand new car in for an oil change and they would try and convince you that you need much more.
