Another amazing Schultz tribute, this time from one of his friends. Robb is both a good friend of charles when he was alive and is a great expert on the man, having given a lot to AppleTV+ documentary on him and really gotten why the strip was so great. Itās also nice to see what I belive to be one of the first major black newspaper strips (Please correct me if iām wrong) honor one of the first well done black characters in comic strip history.
I wasnāt sure this was a āPeanutsā tribute until I saw Woodstock in the last panel. Nicely done, Robb. I hope your 100th birthday is as fondly remembered.
This and Adam are my favorites so far. Iām also reading strips that I donāt normally read because of the tributes. Once again, Sparky has us turning to the āfunniesā for a laugh, a thought, and an inspiration.
I read almost 100 comics daily and still treasure Peanuts and especially Franklin. But Jumpstart is one of my two current favorites (with The Born Loser). With the wealth of characters, wonderful diversity, and ability to bring out humor in every situation you have created the next gen Peanuts Robb. I believe you to be in the pantheon occupied by Mr. Schulz.
Thank all of you for incredibly kind commentary! Brent Rosenthal even moved me to tears with that one. Itās an honor to have known Sparky Schulz, and to be included this way.
This was a superb, funny and heartfelt tribute to Schulz, completely in keeping with the abundant spirit of JumpStart.. Also, itās always great to see Franklin!

Somehow, I feel like this is the best of the tributes Iāve seen! Just blending Franklin in so smoothly like that, I guess.
