Well, I guess that Art Dekko’s long-time partner, Sue Reel, was bound to show up sooner or later. It seems that she’s just babysitting the booth while Dekko is out, but she’s still involved with him.
Blaze Rize is looking for cels from Avatar: The Last Airbender. I liked the Avatar movie, but I never saw the TV series that lasted for three seasons.
jesus, you’d think that after all this time, Sue would have had some electrolysis done to get rid of that… she can’t honestly enjoy walking around with that… what IS she?… a cousin to Snidely Whiplash?…
So …. I guess Tracy & Sam couldn’t pin anything on Art Dekko … & Mike couldn’t wait to get back to what seems to be his favorite motif, grown-ups with severe cases of arrested development. Outside of a guest appearance by Mumbles, who always has entertainment value, this is shaping up as another wasted week, story-wise.
and Sue Reel makes HER reappearance… and the collectors are all coming out of Tracyville’s woodwork… now Blaze makes HER fangirly-ness apparent what with her appearance at FurCon… this is just getting beyond ridiculous now what with everyone and his brother and mother showing up at one convention or another… Mike has gone out of control with his con infatuation and/or obsession… who’s next?…
I’ve been to a few Cosplay and Fur events now (and yes even at 61 I really enjoy doing a bit of cosplay, as do all my kids). I’ve made quite a few friends at those events, kept in touch on Facebook, and that community can be incredibly supportive of one another, no matter what gender identity, orientation, education level, income bracket, social class, or ability in making costumes (or not). Even a half-hearted effort is welcomed and respected, while some costumes are simply amazing.
And there she is. I’m surprised Sue is still helping ol’ bullethead after he left her in the alley for the cops to nab. She was not a happy gal when he did that. I think Sue could take some lessons from Blaze on how to not be a doormat.
1-LION: Oooh! I’m really into the androgenous look because you never know what you got until you unwrap the package!
DINOSAUR: Hey baby, how about a little REP-TAIL?
2-BLAZE: WHO’S A GUY GOTTA mumble TO GET SOME HELP HERE, BABE?
3-SUE-EEEE!: Whadaya need pal?
BLAZE: Uh…a razor, NO! Tweezers. NO! An upper lip wax. NO! An N-95 mask to protect me from airborne viruses. NO! You should wear one! Lotsa germs here today.
SUE: Oh, I don’t believe those things work. BLAZE: You know what does work? A Norelco Electric Shaver with built-in Sideburn trimmer. Just sayin’…
Blaze is having her mind blown by seeing a woman with hair on her upper lip. She probably wonders is Sue Reel related to Snidely Whiplash from the Rocky and Bullwinkle show.
Speaking of, there’s this indy series called “The Masters” with super villains based on famous artists, including Sir Real Ordeal. http://kck.st/3ACewpQ
One thing I’m liking about the story so far is the number of unexpected returns that we’ve been getting. Right at the start on the first Sunday strip, we get the unexpected return of Tom DeHaven from his brief cameo in the previous story, who sets the ball rolling by reporting a crime in the first day of the strip. And at the end of that same Sunday strip, we get the unexpected return of Art Dekko. Then a few days later, the unexpected return of Blaze Rize. And I’m confident nobody was expecting the return of Mumbles at anytime during this story before he did. Sue Reel is probably the least unexpected of unexpected returns, but it’s still good to see her again, mainly because she was one of the most interesting looking “supporting villains” Richard Fletcher ever drew, and it’s good to see another great artist’s, Shelly Pleger’s, take on her.
Ok, so…got a medical update for y’all…just called the doctors listed on my discharge papers and made appointments for both the pulmonary (10am) and the urologist (3:10pm) for the same date…December 20th
if the times don’t clash and both can be worked into the same day to your satisfaction and there’s no serious length of time between the appointments, I say get them looked at, tended to and out of the way on the same day and concentrate on recovering and enjoying your holidays without any of that chit preying on your mind… and have a happy Christmas and new year and get better… and THERE’S my early holiday wishes for you…
Oh, geez! Weird meets weirder. Sue Reel with her Dali mustache (ugh!) and Blaze, an Avatar (TV) fan? And, it’s Day 2 of FanFur Con (inclusive of reptilians, as we see in panel 1). What more next?
