Don’t make Hobbes pounce on you.

Animals were not thrown out of the Garden of Eden. They didn’t eat from the fruit of the tree of knowledge of good and evil. So they don’t know they are going to die; makes life less stressful.

Wrong Hobbes. People are crabby because they don’t know they’re inferior.

Our cat has his crabby days too.

Being superior is stressful; failure is more onerous (and a large vocabulary with words like onerous doesn’t help). I play all sorts of time-wasting games on my computer, and I do it in the expectation of losing most of the time. “What’s a game, girl, if you never lose?” (Jackie Blue)

In the zoo, the big cats sleep most of the time because they have nothing else to do. In the wild, they do quite a bit of hunting.

All animals only worry about, food, shelter, not dying and mating. Billy Joel summed it up with “We didn’t start the fire”!

Sleeping 15 hours a day? I think human teenagers are capable of that.

I’ll take animals over people anytime

Domesticated animals may seem content, but wild animals always seem very, very anxious.

Animals get real crabby when you press the wrong button.

Any living species can have a “cranky” time….

Don’t try to show off your inferior intellect to superior animals, Calvin.

Animals don’t know they’re eventually going to die. That means they aren’t worried they’re wasting their lives.

Some do and some don’t. If memory serves, giraffes sleep thirty minutes per twenty-four hours.

If I am woken up from a sound sleep(ie alarm, a noise, someone waking me), it is not good. If I wake up naturally, no matter how much sleep, I’m great.

I am not getting enough sleep and it’s a problem.

I’d be crabby if I had to waste 15 hours a day sleeping!!! Throwing away 7 is bad enough!!!

Calvin will never learn about a tiger’s temper.

That really IS crabby. I don’t see why Hobbes should be angry about that. Calvin has more of a reason to be angry at what Hobbes said.

Animals have a much different view of the world and a whole lot less self-awareness…
