Are they going to get married and make lots of babies?

I kind of dated a girl who attended my rival high school in the next town (it was also the county seat) over. Sure we also went to the same church denomination together, but separate congregations in separate meetinghouses in the same two towns apart. Only saw each other most often during some church functions.

When I was 16 I was dating a boy from the next town over. We went to different schools & he had a part-time job so we could only see each other on weekends. My mother asked all of her friends to not call her between 3 and 3:30 so that he could call me & we could at least talk on the phone every day. (The only reason we broke up was because he graduated & joined the army, and we both made the mature decision to.)

Just as well she doesn’t go to Mike’s school… His grades would suffer for sure.

She’s really not around that much, Ellie. We didn’t see her at all over the holidays, and before yesterday she hadn’t been mentioned in so long that I had all I could do to remember she was still around. Which is also the reaction I had at some point last fall.

That being said, I do agree that at their age they should be discouraged from letting their relationship get too serious. Time enough for that stuff when you’re older and have a better understanding of how the world works and your place in it.

John, patience, your wish will be granted, much to Michaels hurt feeling and dismay.

A difference of opinion!

If Rhetta’s brother was on a date where the family was having liver and onions, and he detests it, then everyone could mock him with this song:

“Lorne, Lorne, Lorne down the liver!”

It’s a matter of perspective.

This reminds me of the split screen in Annie Hall, where Woody Allen and Diane Keaton are talking to their respective analysts. Each is asked how often they have sex:

Woody Allen: “Hardly ever; I’d say about three times a week.”

Diane Keaton: “Constantly! I’d say about three times a week.”
