“Buttons have no taste” thinks April as she predicts her future of being a foodie specializing in foods you pick up off the floor.

With any luck…..this too shall pass.

It will pass out her other end. But I wouldn’t look for it – ewww! Just move a bottom button to the place where the button will came off and sew another button on the bottom where it won’t show and can probably be tucked in.

This is Liz’s fault. She should have been more direct and said, “No, put the button in my hand.”

Stupid. Toddler. Tricks.

She needs belly surgery, fast

I remember when I was a little kid, being told that if I swallowed a cherry pit. A cherry tree would grow out of the top of my head. I wonder if April would be told if her button could unbutton her?

This too shall pass.

There was an old lady who swallowed a horse. She’s dead -of course.

No problem, they’ll have it back in 24-36 hours…

Once, during a spirited game of quarterbounce, I accidentally swallowed the quarter. After a few days I was eventually able to retrieve it.

Although April’s swallowing the button is probably harmless, it reminds me of a video I saw about Dr. Henry Plummer. A child had swallowed something she should not have, and it lodge in her esophagus. Examining the x-ray, Dr. Plummer asked the parents to bring her back the next day. Overnight, he invented and made a tool that could reach the object and pull it out without surgery.

Interesting that her thought bubble is a full sentence even though her speech bubbles never are.

“Where did you lose it?” What kind of question is that? If someone could tell you where something is, that thing is not lost.

In the last couple of days I must have seen at least 30 variations on “This too shall pass”. One wonders if all of them thought they were being original.

My mother sewed up until age about 70. She had probably several thousand buttons of all kinds. I remember she, a buncha times, set one or more of us kids to “find one like this.” So in this scenario, loss of one button wouldn’t be a big deal. Find another, or wait for its return.

April is in training for a career as a drug mule. She can move on to swallowing balloons full of heroin then take a flight into Canada.

Might come out in her poop!

On an episode of one of those real life medical dramas that aired back in the early ’60s, this scenario played out in real life. It was a baby that swallowed it, and the baby was in surgery.

It’ll all come out int the end.

All she needs is castor oil, prune juice, and milk of magnesia. Then again, it could work too well. Tomorrow’s headline:

Buttons are no issues in kids. Only battery buttons are dangerous and needs doctor intervention.

Her poop is going to look like a cardigan.
