It’s OK Arlo, it’s the thought that counts. Maybe your thumbs are to big.

    Solution: gift bags.

I use bags. Everything I wrap looks like either a basketball or a live squirrel.

Real men never wrap presents. Instead, they shop at stores that offer gift wrapping, preferably for free.

I can wrap presents, though I rarely find it to be an enjoyable undertaking. My wife is a much better, faster and neater gift wrapper.

What I lack in wrapping skill, I make up for with my use of tape.

I’m a guy (and I’m straight) and I used to be so particular with wrapping presents – sharp corners, no excess paper, tape hidden from view, ribbons, bows, special name tags, etc. But then after years of just seeing people rip the gift open without any appreciation of the effort to wrap it, I gave up and just went to gift bags.

Remember way back in the day… Did anyone else have one of those Grandma’s or Great Aunt, who SAVED all of the wrapping paper? Maybe even ironed it out to be perfectly smooth again?

My wife just wants to take her time and saves the paper. However, I wrap like he does myself…..

My wrapping style is a little closer to Arlo’s than Janet’s. My husband’s sisters all do fabulous wrapping with ornate ribbons and trinkets. I’m doing well if I get the paper smooth and the patterns more or less even!

I wrap like Arlo My sister like Janis. I do not buy wrapping paper. My glass comes in brown waffle patterned raised paper, so that is what I reuse for presents. Then I doodle all over it to be festive.

Gift wrapping is like tire changing or how to navigate large airports … a necessary skill not taught in school.

I used to use the Sunday comics section (with the colored comics) of the newspaper for my one special gift for my wife. Now we no longer get the paper so it’s gift bags.

I used to save the Sunday paper’s comics section to use as wrapping paper.  Far as I was concerned it didn’t need any more adornment!

One year my 8 year old son helped me wrap gifts, so I did mine the same way he did them, so he wouldn’t get discouraged about doing them as well as I could! It did go much faster… and I gave him most all the credit!

One year I purchased my S/O the perfect Christmas gift. She then spent 5 minutes telling me what a poor job I had done wrapping the package…

My husband tells me that growing up there was no wrapping paper on their Christmas gifts. “Santa does not wrap presents.”
