Keep getting phone calls from Comcast. Never replied but on the first one I wondered if it was legit. After a dozen or more from different numbers, I began to wonder if someone was trying to build up irritation against them.
Really weird thing: got two small packages in the mail. One held three scrabble tiles and three aluminum strips, the other a small plastic yellow something (holder, perhaps). Never requested ANYTHING from any company. When I googled the return address (CHU, 200 Phoenix Ave, Bloomfield, CT) a lot of legitimate things popped up for CHU, but the address was a crossroads where a Trader Joe’s is supposedly being built. Anybody else ever have that happen????
I have had two scam calls from the “DHS” scammers in the past week. Before I heard about it I answered the first call, and they got into suspicious territory immediately. Amateurs. They addressed me by name and said my phone number was picked at random for a survey. Ding ding ding went the bells.
I just tell them I work for the FTC and would like to have their badge number, or tell them I work for Microsoft because my computer didn’t call them for any kind of tech support.
A couple of months ago, I get getting emails that my PayPal order for bitcoins was processed. After a couple dozen of them, each from a different bogus source address, they switched to my five year subscription to Norton Life-Lock is processed. As for the phone, I have both land line and cell. If there is no name on caller ID, I will not answer. They are all scams. Even when there is a name, I won’t answer if I don’t recognize the number.
There is one caller now who calls my cell and then the landline a minute later.
These people are pretty stupid. After half a dozen calls I don’t answer, they still haven’t figured it out. But I guess if they were smart, they would have real jobs.
Long prison terms in what these people need. Too bad our gummint doesn’t seem to care after scammers.
I almost never pick up messages on my phone. If I see I missed a call, I just call back. I had to pick up a message yesterday because I only had a general number to call back and I needed the specific line, as I was expecting the call. I had to listen to 12 calls first – all scammers – multiple ones asking me to approve purchases, demands for approving purchases, demands for me to call back to sell my house – one even read off my address. Eventually, after deleting all 12, I got what I needed and returned the call. Most people know I don’t pick up messages, and this is why.

Before hanging up, you could ask for their name, address, home and cell phone numbers, and their password information.

This worker shortage makes it even harder to get good help. It’s too bad there are thousands of people somewhere ready to take most any job.

Since society is becoming more and more stupid… for every retarded scammer there’s an equally retarded victim.

Yeah, you’re pretty stupid if you ask for payment in gift cards. But I guess it works on some people.

When scammers ask “How are you?”, I tell them I’m fine until the squids arrive. They usually hang up, thinking I’m a wacko. One of the above is true.
