Ages ago in Peanuts, Sally walked by Snoopy holding her sleeping cat who was completely limp in her arms. Snoopy says, âAmazing. Theyâve invented the boneless cat.â Boneless cat is what I saw in panel one with Hobbes totally relaxed on the floor.
Bill must be an empath of comic proportions. I can actually share the feeling he draws in Hobbesâs strip. In other words, Bill lives the experience before putting it to paper. I have always been extremely impressed with Billâs work.
At the SF zoo once a month on Saturdays, they opened the lion house to the public and fed all the big cats. They had a wheel barrel full of horse meat and threw big pieces into the cages. Terrifying

Hobbes (in panel 2) looks a little like the Jaguar on a Jaguar car. (Maybe better)

They can get pretty limp in REM sleep but, once a cat gets moving at speed, gravity is just a suggestion.
