As a French, I don’t mind either or. They both make excellent fois gras! And once Wiz is done, looks like they’ll be able to enjoy excellent “oie rôtie”…
I believe Wiz is irritated with his wife for correcting him, as she likely has many times. I lived with someone who did that to me. The marriage lasted 17 years but one day I couldn’t take it anymore and left. I totally get Wiz’s reaction.
He mad because he thinking how great duck tastes after being roasted in the oven, Roasted geese is not the same. I have a pond and I used plastic Trumpeter Sawn floating on the water to keep the geese away. Doesn’t effect the ducks. Yip yip yip yip yip
Canadian Geese sounds better than Canada Goose but if you have any around, you will know why he’s not happy. Where I work they are all over, but they don’t bother me as they are used to me now and sometimes they come up and honk at you and hope you have better food.
I used to work on the Sears complex near Chicago in the late 80s. It was a beautiful area. Several ponds and scenic walkways. Trouble was the geese. Poop everywhere. It was disgusting. I left for another job for about a decade but then came back. Somehow they had gotten rid of all the guess and the area was just beautiful. I understand Wiz’s anger.

Why is he so angry? Is it because they are geese (and he hates geese)? Or that he now realizes they are not cute little ducks (which he loves)?
Or is it just the fact that he was wrong?
Or that his wife pointed out that he was wrong?

I’m really enjoying the various comments, where people display their various foibles.
Today’s comic is OK, no matter which way you take it. Nothing to get excited about. (Or laugh about, unfortunately).
The confusion and hostility about the strip — and about the comments — are funnier.

I’m trying my best to keep the geese out of my pond. They make a horrible mess.
David_the_CAD almost 2 years ago
I once worked for a company that had a retention pond near the entrance, and we had geese in the pond during migrations.
Not only can geese be mean and attack you, they make quite a mess doing what comes naturally.

Wizard, you know perfectly well that straightening us out and correcting us is one of our wives’ primary responsibilities.
One which they do exceedingly well, I am instructed to tell.
