I have had one heart attack. I am more afraid of having a stroke of bad luck. (Sorry, but some things that can be a stressor for me makes me cracks jokes, howbeit bad ones.)
If you want to exist longer, follow all the doctor’s rules. If you want to LIVE for however long that last, do what qualifies for you as actually living.
Reminds me of my Grandfather ….. one day the girl that helped My Grandparents asked me to speak to my Grandfather about his salt use (we were right there in the kitchen with him) …. so I said to him that the girl was concerned about his salt use (he was in his 90s then) ….. He stopped eat, looked up at me and said " I’ve been around for this long and I’m going to eat and use an d*mn thing that I want" ….. then went back to eating …. I looked at her and said, “You heard him” …. the subject was never brought up again …. :)
How I wished I could, Earl I disagree with you. I had to make a sever life change and cut down a lot on food. With exercising, working slow and hard way to lose weight and I am senior.

I can’t stop eating cheese popcorn once I start. I used to play poker once a month. They would buy a bag for me and a bag for the rest of the table.

After a certain age, the die is pretty much cast. Better habits won’t change much.

Getting old is like driving on 50,000 mile tires. They don’t handle like when they were new and aren’t going to take much abuse,

Reality or not, my logic exactly. Just in case, I keep Tums nearby.
