DeSantis is the one who started swinging the club, Disney’s response is much more finessed. Ron might have to watch out for getting the Sword through his stones.
I remember the old days when leftists despised large corporations. Now they worship big business, providing they toe the line of leftist ideology, of course.
This is the world the right wing desired, (see Citizens United). Now when the corporation…uh… “person” says thing that you disagree with, they’re the bad guys ( I do cringe at my tacit approval of the Evil Empire) Careful what you ask for.
DeSantis might have been able to sway the geriatric crowd to his way of thinking.. but he might have met his match swinging with Mickey and his friends.
I see it more as a violation of the first amendment than anything else. This is all about getting revenge against Disney for voicing their opinion on the “Don’t Say Gay” law. The government is not allowed to obstruct anyone’s free speech. If DeSantis can do it to Disney, he can do it to anyone.
I remember the old days, too, when Republicans were in favor of free speech, advocated for privacy rights, and called book banning the work of socialists and communists.

Disney has the right to conduct its business as long as it doesn’t harm the public. Hitler and Mussolini never faced such a problem.

“Disney”, as the “good guys”? Life is strange…

I don’t feel sorry for him. He wanted to keep poking that hornet’s nest. It was bound to happen sooner or later.

Disney did not stay in their lane. They got political. When they got political , half of the country automatically didn`t agree with them.

My father worked for Disney as an animator back in the 40’s. (And Walter Lantz and Fleischer before that). I wish he could see this cartoon.
