Earl be glad you didn’t buy Opal a new mop. Sweeping is a must easier task.

The reason why good deeds stop

My spouse didn’t like the pressure washer I got for her.

Well at least Earl didn’t say “Opal” is kinda looking worn out.

She DID take a test flight on a broom, once upon a time. Crashed and landed on her face. That’s how her nose got so outsized. I heard this at a rally for a particular political candidate, so it has to be true! Or… maybe it’s that— if I keep saying it— it will become true for some of the people who hear it…

Should have known, Earl! You reap what you sweep!

I’ve never understood that phrase. I’ve done plenty of good deeds that didn’t end in punishment. I don’t get it.

A little late for mothers day?

There used to be an adage that you should never give your wife a present having an electrical plug. Earl seems to have grasped the literal and missed the implication.

Never give someone a present so they can do more / better chores. That said, giving people useful items WITHOUT expecting excitement can be good.

Good thing this is a family-oriented comic strip. The last panel might have shown Earl walking away kind of funny.

He has an odd sweeping technique. She should gift him with sweeping lessons.

Opal’s bunny slippers are quite deceptive.

Interesting, I found this on the web; The road to hell is paved with good intentions is a proverb or aphorism. An alternative form is “Hell is full of good meanings, but heaven is full of good works”. Another interpretation to consider would be: One is naïve and acts in good faith with no altruistic objective.

No way he’s that ignorant at his age.

Should’ve saved this for June. That’s the the usual month for a gridin’ broom.

I work as a custodian and we were gifted new brooms a while back, rather ironically on Valentine’s Day.

That’s why you get her a “Shark” “vaccum!” It’s like a rechargble electric broom. Ohhhhh Earl.
