Wanda boys will be boys. There’re not having any fun unless they get some scrapes and bruises. And maybe a cut or two.

With the ‘Nanny state’ these days, all kids are wrapped up in cotton wool. If they run the risk of getting a bruise, it’s to be banned. In our day, you came home with a gash in your leg and were told “it’s just a flesh wound, go out and play” or “walk it off”. We were a lot tougher then – or allowed to be.

Check in if anything goes beyond the boo boo stage. Better drama than trauma.

Wanda, Wanda, Wanda, don’t you realize by now that in a boys world it’s always fun and games until someone gets hurt, then it’s just fun.

There is something to be said for ‘no pain, no gain’ as applying to mental as well as physical fitness.

Usually it takes more than just a little bleeding for it to be serious.

If you make it through childhood without a permanent scar or two, you weren’t having enough fun.

The young one is wise…..

What if Hammie, Trent, and Calvin all lived on the same street?

One time when one of us was headed toward the house caterwauling and in tears, my mother called out “There are bandaids on the back porch. Don’t bleed on the rug”

The pediatrician told us when our kids were young they will fall and get hurt that’s why thy are built so close to the ground!

That probably means he’ll be home in five minutes or less.
