Be careful about teaching her to flush. There were these people who taught their kitty to use it and to flush afterwards. They suddenly started getting very high water bills. They didn’t know what was happening until they started hearing many flushes. The kitty was enjoying flushing even when it didn’t actually go!

I’ve lost more cats that way!

Do not put cat or dog poo in your septic system, unless you’re willing to have it pumped every year. They have different gut flora that will slow septic digestion, ultimately filling your drain field.

One time, my cat spontaneously jumped up on the rim and used the toilet, so I praised him no end and called him a good cat – and he never, ever did it again… sigh…

Which is easier – flushing once a day after the cat or cleaning the kitty litter and having to keep it around until garbage day?

just flush the cat and be done with it

I had a friend who had taught her cat to use the toilet. Only problem was that when her husband was standing in front of the john, the cat would race over , balance on the rim and proceed to do her business.

cats- use the litter box- scratch and cover then go directly to the kitchen counters and wander about when, where and while food is being prepared! blech!!

Yup. Just keep moving the LASER dot to the rim, with a little incentive left behind and she’ll get the idea.

Better not teach her to flush – if reports I’ve heard of other flushing cats are any indication, she’ll sit there & do it repeatedly to watch the water swirl around!

We tried to train out cats to use the toilet. The meezers and the calico can and do. One of the meezers does flush and the other just reaches for the handle. We are not going to teach them how to use the bidet.
