As for the BLM demonstrations yes, they really were mostly peaceful. And the only real violence turned out to be committed by white supremacists. Go figure, huh?

As, for immigration. Hardly a new problem. Just one the Republicans really don’t wan to fix. If they did, they’d agree stiff penalties on those that hire undocumented immigrants would be the best answer. Other than that, most of the people coming are doing their best to do it the legal way. Sadly, Repubs want to continue to make that as difficult as possible.

They have NO policy or policies they have proposed or passed (Republicans control the House, remember?). NONE.

When Trump was elected, they proposed NO legislation.

Instead, they constantly scream that the border is OPEN whenever a Democrat is president, and claim it’s all under control when a Republican is president. (It’s OKAY If A Republican Does It). They do not pass, or even propose legislation. The ONLY solution they believe in, is The Wall, that they believe Mexico will pay for.

It is again, government by bumper sticker.

What they DO, is to hire illegals at all levels of business, AND invoke massive amounts of H-1B visas, and other H-1 visas to import ‘legals’ who nobody tracks.

Their analysis consists solely of tracking crimes committed by illegals and screaming that none of that would have happened without the porous border.

In the Alternate Universe, the border is only an issue when a Democrat is in the White House.

The United States actually tried to conquer Mexico and make it part of the US, something which would have made all Mexicans US citizens. “We” only partly succeeded, just getting Texas and a few other parts of what we now call “the Southwest”… where certain parties (and political Parties) are still trying to suppress the “Latinos”.

Yeah, that was more than 100 years ago, but I wonder what the situation would be now if we had gotten all of Mexico.

Biden can’t do much by himself. Both sides have to come to a compromise solution, as they did in the Obama years before the AntiPublicans decided they couldn’t let Obama get the credit.

Obviously those “hordes” of brown people streaming across the border in 2019 didn’t ruin America or take away everything you hold dear. It did make some wall builders rich building Trumps 57 miles of fence for billions and billions of dollars. Donald said “$137,000 a foot for fencing sounds fair to me!”

We have a severe labor shortage-severe enough to needing 14 year olds to work in meat packing plants-yet it is a crises when able bodied adults want to work here.

This just in. Republicans and Democrats continue to do nothing about the border because it’s still a very effective political weapon.

About the only things positive about the dept ceiling standoff, has been the almost complete absence of southern border news. Now, maybe, bad weather will get media’s attention.

To the cartoon’s point, one good “mostly peaceful riot” deserves a “mostly peaceful demonstration”.

Inherent in politics are diplomacy and compromise. There is nothing gained by being arrogant and adamant about an issue such as immigration while the world’s demographics are undergoing dynamic changes. History tells us again and again … that those who adapt, survive/thrive.

Border crossings are down 70% since the end of Title 42. Just a few thousand per day.

Nope, it’s more like a “broken record” on the part of Goodwyn and “friends”, since border crossings on the Mexican have significantly decreased since the recent end of Title 42.
