> Earl ( / ɜːrl, ɜːrəl /) 1 is a rank of the nobility in the United Kingdom. The title originates in the Old English word eorl, meaning “a man of noble birth or rank”. 2 The word is cognate with the Scandinavian form jarl, and meant “chieftain”, particularly a chieftain set to rule a territory in a king’s stead.
The gag alone makes this strip better than most of the rest pretty much every day of the week. Throw in the reaction expressions in P4 in this one and you raise it to yet another level. Great stuff.
A slice of cheese on a piece of bread or some crackers. Garnish as inspired by what you find in the fridge. Drop a little on the floor for Rosco. Ask her if she’d like one too. If she doesn’t, you have two for yourself.

Roscoe is hoping someone will make him a sandwich also.

Hey Opal, Roscoe is licking his chops. At least make the dog happy!

A sandwich should be within Earl’s capabilities unless she yells at him about bread crumbs.

Now I’m hungry.

Let him make his own sandwich and whatever it is, he can’t complain about it.

My husband isn’t so eloquent. He just says, “Less talky-talky, more fetchy-fetchy”.

and once again we see Opal with the “Lord, give me strength not to kill this man” look…

Get off your duff Earl and make it yourself. I make my own, and do a pretty good job of it. Don’t need the wife’s help.

Make one for Opal when you get up, Earl. Plus save a few bites for Roscoe. Opal is not a short-order cook.
