When joannie abandoned her children, it messed up their socialization skills, to say the least. This is why her granddaughter has such an antisocial mom.
A very tech savvy friend had his computer probed by someone trying to break in. He traced it back by IP number, a number unique to each computer in the world (not ISP, that is just the internet provider) and disabled the hacker’s computer with some software he had crafted. Done many years ago, not recent.
Not computer, but FAX. Guy’s phone kept ringing from a FAX dialing his NON-FAX number. He tried to get them to stop but no luck. So he rigged up his Computer to send an endless FAX to their FAX machine. They called asking him to stop and he said he would if they would, never got another wrong number from them. I hated when that use to happen to me years ago.
Not to steal t he man’s nickname, which is probably his only tangible asset, but I think a certain Orange Politician just cornered the m arket on the name “Stupidhead”.
From what we know about him,it could lead us to conclude that he was guilty.
Here, and in every strip like it, I wish Trudeau had asked for help from someone who actually understands tech so that Alex wouldn’t always be spouting word salad.
My apologies to Duke and son for casting aspersions on them. Obviously the idiot with the chapeau is a more pathetic script kiddy. Duke can afford better.
Reminds me of The Shawshank Redemption: “Yeah. The funny thing is – on the outside, I was an honest man, straight as an arrow. I had to come to prison to be a crook.”
You can get the grade-school rudiments of crooked behavior on the streets; for high-school-level training, go to prison, where they’ve got specialized instruction in all the different forms of larceny; for college, head to Wall Street, where they’ve learned how to relieve common people of their money with the added bonus of avoiding legal consequences for it; but for grad-school swindling, nothing beats religion, where you can peddle nothing whatsoever, get richly rewarded for it, and be praised for the effort.
Judges will often give a sentence to a drug crime of ‘a year and a day’ so the person will go to a ‘real’ state prison rather than a municipal jail. Presumably to learn their lesson but what I hear from someone who has been through it is what you learn is Drug Selling 101: lesson one— There are two types of sellers, those that use a forklift and those who don’t.
The daughter’s hairstyle looks like mine at that age. Kind of a “get ’er done” with rubber bands style. For those who have better things to do than fuss with make up and hair

Those who learn stuff in prison, usually end up back in prison.

ISP = Internet Service Provider, eg Talk Talk. And for the middle-aged, AOL.
IP address = Internet Protocol address, eg 92.21.53.74
