A bear and a mountain lion shouldn’t be too hard to spot.

Truly stupid. People have encroached deeper into forests to build homes and then complain about bears, coyotes, etc. coming around.

Snitch! LOL…hopefully, they just relocate them both away from the kids.

Why are they even trying to catch Cubbie? He isn’t a nuisance bear, he just lives there. Where I live, bears are under a three strikes rule. A reported bear sighting in a neighborhood will result in educating the neighborhood on securing attractants (trash, bird feeders, dog food…) and maybe some hazing to keep the bear from making itself too much at home. Bears are relocated up to twice if they are making a nuisance of themselves (getting into trash or homes, etc.). If get in trouble a third time, they are euthanized.

The camp probably doesn’t secure its garbage properly for avoiding wildlife conflicts. Most issues with bears are because they are allowed to get into trash. Here are some good tips on living with bears.

A mountain lion and a puma and a cougar are the same animal. They are called different things in different areas. Also called catamount and panther. But they are neither “lion” nor “panther”. Species Puma concolor is no longer found in Pennsylvania.

Species “Puma concolor” (mountain lion, puma, cougar, catamount, panther) is extinct in North America east of the Mississippi River, with the exception of subspecies “Puma concolor coryi”, common name Florida Panther, in the southern tip of Florida.

Yes. You are right. Puma, cougar, mountain lions and panthers are all in the same family

No, sorry. It is way too big for a bobcat. A bobcat has short legs and is stocky, much like comparing the size and build to a bulldog

Cubby loves the children and he doesn’t want them to be mauled or worse. On the same note, the cat would be safer relocated.
